Nope, they ain't takin' my Ruger 10/22, nope!

So CSI: Vegas decided that, instead of a show about 'assault-style weapons', they did one about trailer park rednecks and a Ruger 10/22.

Here's a link to the show. They called it a 'murder weapon', a 'sniper weapon', before they finally figured out it was shot into air and hit the victim by accident.

But they must have said 'Ruger 10/22' seven or eight times.

CSI Mayberry. That would make a great SNL skit. It they actually wanted to pursue humor instead of whatever it is they do now.

MAD TV was better than SNL anyway.

I still crack up at their PAX TV version of The Sopranos.

You’re just an apologist for the murder industry. Everybody knows a Ruger 10/22’s bullets are five times as fast as the bullets from any other gun.

Ruger PC-9 Takedown model —— which can use Glock magazines:

Here’s another great takedown: .357 lever action!

"Very accurate."

.

Yes they are. (the 10/22)
Most accurate gun I've ever owned actually, as far as I could tell.

Other end of the spectrum was a Norinco SKS.
Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with that piece of Chinese junk.
Good thing was - I sold the SKS for exactly the same price that I bought it for.
Which wasn't much.

I have this pet theory that every gun purchased via a 4473 is “registered”. Not legally, mind you but I’m fairly certain the BATF does not destroy purchase records as the law demands.

I think it was Cheaper Than Dirt, or somebody like that, who sold all this crap to make one’s 10/22 look like the scariest, most evil ‘assault weapon’ ever.

For those of us getting past running around "assaulting" things, you can also turn your 10-22s into a fixed position weapon.

Although I think the anti-aircraft sights are a bit optimistic about the ballistics of even the hottest .22 cartridge.

They will run that operation one house at a time. Since there is never any action on the part of “Patriots” it will run to completion.

“It is also extremely rare.”

There’s a lot of shooting in the air on new years and the fourth of July in inner cities. I suspect it’s mostly handguns though.

“Every house in America should have a 10-22. The takedown model is a great trunk gun.”

It also comes in a very cool soft-side case. The case will hold the rifle, (broken for the takedown model), has an exterior pistol pouch, and space enough for 6 BX25 mags. I also added a container designed for paint balls that holds 500 rounds.

Truly grab and go.

I think I’ve seen him hit tires on moving cars, too.

That would have been from out of the opening from the bubble of the Highway Patrol Bell 47 helicopter ---- at 500 feet.

“Add to that the takedown, and there’s two actions you have to do before you can fire.”

It’s my Get Home Bag gun. The Marlins are super nice, for sure. But the 10-22 is ubiquitous. Parts and upgrades are all over the place. Ours are topped with Nikon BDC glass. Zeroed at 50 yards and I can hit targets out to 150 easy.

Plus it breaks down into a handy carrying case that has room for spare magazines and ammo.

Love them. Absolutely love them.

“Mine always jams. I have tried multiple brands of bullets.”

Take it to a gunsmith for a thorough professional cleaning. I’ll bet that clears up the problem.

Mine get a little fidgety with standard velocity ammo. So I run high velocity stuff exclusively.

“I have other things…”

As do we. But there are some jobs that are ideal for the .22. Inexpensive training is one.

You can get some good stuff to trick one out as an M-1 carbine, too. Including a new receiver.
