Not much on white wines or anything sweet, but GewĂĽrztraminer is not bad.

Hi.

Let’s say we are having seafood.

Maybe a chardonnay. Savignon blank?

Fried, blackened, steamed, raw or with a sauce.

There are white wines for the occasion.

Let’s say we are having meat.

Roasted, grilled, smoked, etc have a red wine.

A cab, merlot, burgundy what ever for the occasion.

Champagne and truffles for dessert.

5.56mm

Moscato by its very nature will always be sweet

Try a nice German white.

Just a reminder with really sweet wines you need to serve something as sweet. Chocolate Cake, Peach Melba chocolate moose etc. Having something as sweet or sweeter really makes the wine better.

I love Moscato- bubbles and sweetness!!!

I have not read all the replies...but have you tried a Prosecco? It’s bubbly and more dry than Moscato. I usually drink Lumbrusco (not spelled correctly!).

Cheers!

Trader Joe’s house brand viognier is in your price range and sweet but not too sweet.
If you want drier white, La Crema Chardonnay is reasonable in price and quality.

Bali Hai make me gag just thinking about it after all these years. IMO, it made Boone’s Farm taste like champagne.

LOLOL I can relate. When I use to drink, wine was my drink of choice, but I went for quantity, not quality. Boxes were about 5-6.00 for 5 liters. So often I would enter a liquor store to buy a nice bottle wine then realized how much more I could drink if I purchased a cheap box.

Slow Cooker Beef Short Ribs in Cabernet Sauce

Use the Cabernet Sauvignon of your choice, be sure to get more than one bottle, having a couple of glasses with this recipe just sets it off.

If you want a bubbly that will match with fish (assuming a white flaky type of fish and not a tuna steak), try an Asti. Usually easy to find fairly good quality below $20.

You can match reds with fish, and whites with red meat, just never try to pair a rose with salmon.

For Moscato, match with dessert. Fruits and cheeses

When you finish drinking a box of wine, then you have a box to put stuff in.

What do you have when you empty a bottle of wine?

An empty bottle.

You can use them for target practice but the neighbors complain about rounds winging through their house.

I tried TX a couple of years ago at the Fort Worth Stockyards and was hooked. Unfortunately, it’s not distributed here in California (can’t say I blame them), so I try to pick up a bottle or two during my annual trip to New Mexico.

Balcones Baby Blue is a nice one as well and at least I can get it here.
