What’s happening: PayPal is updating its acceptable use policy, with the update taking effect on November 3. You might say to yourself, well, I don’t use my account with the financial services company for anything improper or illegal, so what do I have to worry about? Here’s why that might not necessarily be true:
PayPal says it’s expanding its existing list of prohibited activities to include the “sending, posting, or publication of messages, content, or materials that meet certain criteria.” The full details are explained right here, but PayPal is basically set to start levying a fine when users are found to have shared “misinformation” or promoted content that’s deemed to be “discriminatory” or promoting “hate.”

It’s not that PP is fining you for being [their definition of] a bigot.
It’s that PP is \watching\ you on UNRELATED social/marketing sites and making harmful decisions regarding your financial relationship with them.
A donation sent to Ron DeSantis via PP is now going to cost you extra for contributing to “misinformation” about Catastrophic Anthropomorphic Climate Alterations*.

PP is implementing an ESG scheme to defund these sites.

Asking if they have a “comment forum” is a legit question. Hard to imagine that a site like PayPal would monitor other sites, judge whether or not you said something “inappropriate” and then snatch $2500.
Is the banking industry next? Credit cards?
You’ll have a charge card or bank acct attached to your PP acct that they’ll draw from.

I canceled PayPal last year. My friend canceled PayPal yesterday.
This is a service that a major bank, Amazon, or even a Musk run Twitter could duplicate. PayPal is committing corporate suicide: “Go Woke, Go Broke”.

Paypal is a payment processor. No one posts anything on “Paypal.” So how does Paypal know that someone thinks for himself?
Does it get that information from other internet giants? Do they have a database of climate deniers/vax deniers/teen-gender-surgery-resisters/biden-critics/Christians/MAGA supporters?
Paypal says it didn’t mean to publish the revelation that they plan to seize your money. They are lying. They have already frozen money in accounts. This is their policy. Publishing it/not publishing it doesn’t change their policy.

I had my eBay acct set up to pay from PP, so I visited it yesterday to see what the alternative payment methods are. Under the “Add an acct” function, it said existing PP accts would be honored, but new PP accts can no longer be added. I COULD delete the current PP acct and add a charge card.
Won’t stand legal challenge, and I didn’t even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I know they “rescinded” this ridiculous decision - but I know longer trust them. They’ve dropped the mask and exposed far left marxist tendencies towards my personal finances. Account deleted.
Even though they may have reversed that I will be canceling because they revealed who they really are.
