Years 40 years ago I was attacked by a pitbull ... the thing would have killed me if it could have.

Two years ago a pitbull nearly killed my female yellow labrador retriever. While it was trying to kill her I beat it over the head with a shovel and my male lab started shredding its back .... at the last moment self-preservation kicked in and it released and ran ... my neighbor found it a day later nearly dead.

I hate pitbulls ... whenever there is an dog/human attack 9 out of 10 times it is a pitbull.

I was recently in line at a rabies shot clinic and behind me was an small, frail elderly woman who had obviously raised her now grown granddaughter. Her adult grandchild, who was a big woman, had their adopted older pit on a leash and it acted very friendly.

In an instant, the dog went from tail wagging bliss to growling, viscious snapping, attack mode at a car passing by. It was all the big granndaughter could do to hold him back. Turns out the dog doesn’t like reflected light off of, in this case, a car window. The instant change in demeanor was startling over such a small thing as that.

I own rental property in a depressed area and when prospective tenants tell me they have a “mix” that is code for pit bull, rotty, etc. I scan their social media beforehand to determine what type of animals they have. And now you can get in trouble saying “no pets” due to the ESA phenomenon.

I love dogs and have had many different
breeds in this 67 years of breathing.
The one and only breed I absolutely
refuse to own is a Pit Bull. They’re
bred for three reasons only. To fight,
to win, to kill.
Get yourself a red healer. Aussies got
it right with this dog. Best I’ve had
the pleasure to know.

My mother told me that their home insurance was cancelled because of the pitbull I mentioned before in other posts. This was in 2004 when the insurance man came around the home, and my dad didn’t have the dog locked up.

I don’t have Facebook, anymore, but 6 years ago when I did I was unfriended by a couple of people when I posted about a four year old child being killed by a pitbull who belonged to the mom’s boyfriend. Their sympathy was for the pitbull being shot to death by cops, not the child who was mauled to death.

This is so true with almost all pit bull owners, they never have any empathy for a person attacked and mauled or killed by these dogs even a when it is a completely helpless infant killed its never the dog its the kids fault. Yet plenty of tears for the pit involved and even more outrage about the dog involved when its put down. Clearly both these dogs and the breds supporters have issues that make both dangerous.

Dogs are the number one killer of people in the US by animals. Not to mention injuries and maiming. It’s a fact.

most pitbull owners have the same mentality about those dogs as the little minded white boys have about sagging pants. its more important to “Be like them” then anything else...

It’s a normal, employed middle class family. The father owns a Harley dealership and called the dogs his “house lions.” She was very pretty (I doubt that she will be ever again, since pits seem to go for peoples’ faces) and was a respiratory therapist.

Not a normal family.
Owning a Harley dealership and “house lions,’ indicators of wanna be badass.

My experience of a lifetime is too many motorcycle owners fantasize being social rebels and tough guys. Throw in some tattoos and a pit bull for confirmation.

Thrill seeking had dangers.

I only clicked on this to see if it was a springer spaniel. But it turned out to be pit bulls again. Huh, imagine that, the dog of peace killed someone.

Had a Boxer, Ginger, when I was growing up that was super protective of me and my brothers.

She would not let an adult (other than my parents) come into our backyard if we were outside.

One day I did something stupid, and my dad spanked me. As he was walking out of the room, Ginger bit him in the butt.

That made my dad love her even more! That was my last spanking.

I haven’t been on Fascist Book (other than faux account for recon) since 1/19/21 nor Twatter.

My house insurance was once canceled back in 1994 due to my Belgium Malanois.

“”I recall a Freeper some years ago who’s PB saved him from a bear attack, be sure to tell him how evil all PB’s are.””

If that is the story I’m thinking of the human saved the dog with a Buck knife, the dog didn’t do anything unique to breed but distract the bear by being attacked, which gave the freeper the chance to leap on the bear’s back and stab him to death.

I googled and that’s a beautiful dog. He looks like, Butch, my parents other dog, who I used to call, Anubis. I was so upset they just dropped him off in the middle of nowhere after Katrina. Mimi, the half-pitt had died of old age. My neighbors down the street did the same thing to their two dogs. I told my parents they weren’t fit to own even a small dog after that, only an outside cat that could look after itself, after my mother said my dad needed a small dog for companionship.

I never asked my parents what happened after their home owners insurance was cancelled, but I guess they paid extra or found other coverage, I was just way too busy at the time.
