“The initial altercation or the initial stabbing occurs on the sidewalk area, appears unprovoked — there is no altercation beforehand,” LVMPD Deputy Chief James LaRochelle told reporters.
The suspect then walked south from the initial attack and proceeded to stab more people, which was seen by “scores of witnesses,” LaRochelle said. A concerned citizen alerted a security guard at the Sands Hotel and Casino, who then called police.
The suspect is described as a male in his early 30s who is not a local resident and appears to come to the community recently. Police are still working to verify his identity.

A bunch of little kids and their caretakers, and a crazy man’s family, died earlier today in a stabbing attack on the other side of the world. Some of the little kids, according to the report. were asleep when Crazy Man went crazy on them.
I dimly recall posting about how it’s not responsible or well-considered to flaunt mask laws and getting a bunch of crap over it. Is it worth getting killed over to support garbage entertainment and the “lifestyle” of gambling?
Las Vegas needs us. We don’t need it. Stay away from crowds and in particular crowded venues. It’s too late to save the culture. Get out while you can and make sure some of our values are preserved.
