Here is Central Illinois gas prices jumped some 30 cents yesterday and are now again over $4 a gallon for reg. Why and why now? Have your gas prices creeped up, are you paying more than you were 2.5 years ago?

Old joke by a Detroit rock DJ: I figured out how to save money on gas. Every morning I drive a few hundred miles up north and gas up and then drive back. Cheap gas up there.
I see those stupid keywords on a bunch of threads. Some obsessed little Biden troll is doing it, I’m sure. Those people are such a nuisance.
There was some NFL player on the local sports show and somehow the price of gas came up. The player said how he saves money is by buying just half a tank. “I could save even more if I just got a quarter of a tank but then I’m going back to the station too often.”
The announcers laughed. The player said “What’s so funny? I’m paying like half of what I would pay if I filled the whole tank up.”
The player never admitted it was a joke - so maybe he was being serious? Although there was one player on the team that was like that with a lot of things and you never knew if he was joking or not.
“Why do people like dogs so much? All they do is lay down, walk around and eat your food. I mean - they can’t even talk to you! What’s the point? Now if they could talk I’d get one in a minute. Of course I’d train it to be quiet when I didn’t want to talk.”
Funny.
During the 1970s gas crisis a book/magazine on gas saving had the advice to only fill about 1-2 gallons each time because the total weight of the car would produce better gas mileage. Their proof was “Did you ever pick up two gallon jugs of milk or water and thought about a third. So heavy. Like 10-20 of them filled with gas weighing down your car.”
But no mention that the fuel pump requires cool gas to keep from overheating and prematurely wearing out. Never run all day on practically empty or it lacks the cooling it needs. Could wear soon.

$7.00 a gallon here in La Verne, California.
$6.35 per gallon at the discount gas as I drove by at 8am.
Now at 11:41 am, $6.45 per gallon.
