M&M’s has added a new “spokescandy” to their cartoon character lineup, designed to “represent acceptance and inclusivity.”
The character is the first new addition to the lineup in a decade.
“Designed to represent acceptance and inclusivity, our newest member is known for her earnest self-expression,” the brand said in a statement. “Keen self-awareness, authenticity and confidence are the driving forces behind Purple’s charm and quirky nature. She joins the legendary cast of M&M’S characters, who recently were given a refresh with updated looks and more nuanced personalities back in January.”
In January, the brand gave the Green candy a makeover to be less “sexy.”

Remember when the eliminated the tan M&M for blue?
Even candy is politicized.
Are Reese’s pieces safe from the ravages of the woke fascists?
Why can’t they just make f’ing candy?
I can live without M&Ms.
Well... there’s always purple skittles. In fact a purple skittles with M&M’s are a pleasing combination.
Candy industry met 5-year calorie reduction and labeling goals
But no reduction in price, was there?
I’d love to get a close up look at the people involved in this M&M advertising campaign. Only a mental case believes that a purple M&M indicates inclusion and will increase sales.
Purple paint on trees and things here in Texas means no trespassing.
I'm wondering about a quid pro quo from Deep State.
As seen from India...
M&M Mars is a private company not publicly traded. However, they will regret this after the Halloween sales figures come in.
They will taste like crap.
"When baiting child victims with candy, you can use purple M&Ms."
A sneaky new way to indoctrinate children.
“... they will regret this after the Halloween sales figures come in.”
Doubtful. Pretty much the only ones who’ll be aware of this are political wonks like us. A few printed business card sized notes placed on the candy shelves in October might help spread the word.
Of course, if the new purple character in the TV ads is super swishy then others might catch on.
Pretty much the only ones who’ll be aware of this are political wonks like us.
I’m good with “acceptance and inclusivity”, as long as I don’t have to become a whacky left wing socialist.
How dare they use the pronoun “she”! I thought that any new “inclusive” candy would at least use a new pronoun!
These are not people. They are fictional characters. They don’t exist. They don’t have attributes. They are ideas that exist only in one’s imagination.
When someone can’t tell the difference between fantasy and reality, that’s insanity.
