A new study from the Pentagon shows that 77% of young Americans would not qualify for military service without a waiver due to being overweight, using drugs or having mental and physical health problems.
A slide detailing the findings from the Pentagon's 2020 Qualified Military Available Study shared with Military.com shows a 6% increase from the latest 2017 Department of Defense research that showed 71% of Americans would be ineligible for service.
"When considering youth disqualified for one reason alone, the most prevalent disqualification rates are overweight (11%), drug and alcohol abuse (8%), and medical/physical health (7%)," the study, which examined Americans between the ages of 17 and 24, read. The study was conducted by the Pentagon's office of personnel and readiness.

Little Willy Milley is also a fat, gross blob.
Oh, a brainless butt-kissing blob.
So, let’s not just pick on the young.
If I was a real problem solver these days I would ask how motivated overweight people are. In the days of the draft, that problem was addressed in boot camp or basic training. The other issues can’t get fixed that way.
We might also get back to hiring warriors again, rather than pronoun experts.
Fortnite and Door Dash
Our society in general is not a pretty sight.
It’s probably just as well. I can see companies of Snowflakes being wiped out while they’re staring at their cellphones.

… The alarming figure based on IDF data, first published by Yediot Aharonot, shows that 32.9% of men will receive an exemption from the army. With an average of 15% dropping out during their service, nearly half of men (47.9%) do not complete their military service...

Maybe they should make a work ethic video game.
( while we are at it- we have enough single moms in uniform so let’s take a break)
Exactly why we should have universal military training as part of high school.
We shouldn’t write-off the next generation. We should do what we can to get the next generation into shape.
Pshhh...They’ll just lower the standards, again, and again, and again.....
How much lower can you get than an AIDS infected fag?
This is the official reason given why they can’t make recruiting and retention goals. The actual reason is the DOD went woke.
What a lie you people are buying.
THE REAL REASON IS THEY WENT WOKE.
This is gaslighting at it’s finest. The WOKENESS is the reason. Tearing down statues of Gen Lee HAS CONSEQUNENCES.
I really miss John Candy…
Just out of clarification, what you’re saying is that there are many young people out there who ARE fit and good to serve in our military, but they don’t want to have anything to do with it because of the policies that are currently within the military. Am I reading that correctly?
Yep, he was a good one.
back in the day, when there was a draft, the unfit became fit after boot camp.
Fat was no big deal. judges were giving young men the option of 2 years in jail or join the military.
times sure have changed. Not sure I would want to be in today’s “woke” military
I am surprised that overweight was only 11%. When I see young folks, it’s the odd ball in shape people that stand out because there are not many.
