Hello tinnitus, my old friend
You've come to sing to me again
I hear the sound of dentists drilling
Of sinks of water over-filling
And the sound is ringing in my brain
It will remain
It is the sound of tinnitus
In restless dreams, I hear the tone
I know I’ll never be alone
You’re always there when I wake up
You say we never will break up
When I lay down my head to sleep at night
After I turn out the light
I miss the sound of silence
They say they’re searching for a cure
Ten thousand doctors, maybe more
After many years of coping
Tell me, should I just stop hoping
That someday they’ll find a way to stop sounds I dread
When I am dead
I’ll hear the sound of silence
Other people do not know
Tinnitus like a cancer grows
I remember when you would annoy me
Now you're trying to destroy me.
Or maybe, you just want to be my friend
Should I pretend
To like the sound of tinnitus
How many times I’ve bowed and prayed
That God would make the noises fade
I must not let self-pity fill me
I know that this disease can’t kill me
It’s the cross I must bear, many others have to bear much worse
It is my curse
To hear the sound of tinnitus
Doesn’t work for me. I was hearing the tinnitus every second of that procedure.
I have tinnitus also. High pitched squealing. I keep a radio on an AM station to cover it up. As to the hearing aids, I started wearing them in my mid 50’s. The audiologist told me that the longer you wait, the harder it is to adjust to them. The brain forgets what certain sounds sound like and it takes a while to re train the brain to those sounds. Nice thing about them is when I go to bed, I don’t hear much of anything.
Got mine 3 days after the jab.
“My son has it. Says it gets worse when he eats salty stuff.”
One of the causes of tinnitus can be high blood pressure. When I went in to get my tinnitus checked, my BP was high and they put me on meds. I’ve had my BP under control for over a year now and still have my tinnitus, but perhaps your son needs to get checked. Eating salty food can increase blood pressue.
One day, the sound will fade away. Then, ruh roh.

My wife asked one evening if I could hear the crickets. I said, “I hear the sound of millions of crickets, always.”
I only get it once it a great while.
Here too. Reminds me of how my ears would ring for days after going to a concert, and I went to plenty of them when I was a teenager. :O
“Release your hands and listen.”
Wow, thanks! Even if it only lasts for a bit, how nice. Not gone completely but it’s down noticeably.
Are your crickets very loud? Mine have gotten quieter and I think it’s because I’ve gotten accustomed to them. But right now they’re getting louder because I’m drawing attention to them. I need to get off this thread. Lol
I know full well where my specific frequencies are lacking, all on the high end. Everything sounds muddled in my left ear.
Same here. I find it comforting.
I can relate. Constant whine in my left ear. Sometimes it’s a dull whine and sometimes its loud.
Well there goes that. Did you notice any difference after having them removed?
Brilliantly written!
Some have it so bad it doesn’t work, others it it really does.
Sounds like you have a pretty bad case of it. (no pun intended)
