Excerpted from Dirty Laundry by Don Henley, Danny Kortchmar.
I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something, something I can use
People love it when you lose
They love dirty laundry
Well, I could’ve been an actor, but I wound up here
I just have to look good; I don’t have to be clear
Come and whisper in my ear
Give us dirty laundry
Kick ‘em when they’re up
Kick ‘em when they’re down
Kick ‘em when they’re up
Kick ‘em all around
We got the bubble-headed bleached-blonde
Comes on at five
She can tell you ‘bout the plane crash
With a gleam in her eye
It’s interesting when people die
Give us dirty laundry
Can we film the operation?
Is the head dead yet?
And all the boys in the newsroom
Got a running bet
Get the widow on the set
We need dirty laundry
Btw..the test requires 4 tubes of blood .has to be processed ASAP and shipped frozen..so yeah..you just can’t mail it in
One of Henley’s best.
Bump
Well...I was waiting for Mr Know It All to provide the name of the test that people here might want to try but I can see he doesn’t have a clue since he said you could just mail it in.
Your insurance likely won’t pay for this test if you have had the gold standard test.
You can order this test yourself from places like Ultalabs but I got my Doctor to order it because my insurance should pick up the cost.

If colon cancer runs in your family you might want to get this along with CEA and all the rest
There are no enemies in the chemo lab.
Everyone is being infused with liquid flu.
A random few breathe long into the future.
Families groan.
Our best to Ms Couric.
Fight to win.
Bkmk/colon cancer test
Very well said.
Missing the ol’ sympathy & compassion chip I see.
Oh no write a book.
Many prayers your son’s way for continued good health.
aye
Agreed and thank you
So many people have become cold and even brutal.
Matthew 24:12
I lost my sister to it in November 2020. I miss her so much.
I wouldn’t wish that on anybody.
Here is one more public service announcement:
If you are going to get anything more than the common routine blood tests know the requirements before hand.
Like
Protect from light (they always get this wrong)
Dont shake the tube
No tourniquet or if tourniquet must be used follow certain steps...(they always get this wrong..it is not a common requirement)
Etc
Is that proper behavior in front of a child?
I don’t care for Couric’s politics, but she did the country a massive favor with her colon cancer awareness activities.
As someone who has had a precancerous polyp removed a few years ago, I totally agree. My sister-in-law is still recovering from radiation therapy and chemo from her battle with breast cancer. Time will tell…
I don’t like Couric’s politics either, but I do wish her a full recovery.
The “adverse effects” are so wide ranging, that it confuses people.
I AM putting 2 & 2 together. Looked up “How Bad is My Batch” for my bro (recently diagnosed with cancer) this week - not good.
Some of us need to talk about our illnesses as a form of therapy. At least I did when I found out I needed a new liver. I was devastated and it took me a number of weeks to get my emotions back in check. Then it was “down to business” as far as getting tested to be on the transplant list and really taking care of myself during the waiting period. These ARE life-changing situations.
