Cultural trends tend to follow to a greater or lesser degree the political leadership in whatever nation / state they’re taking place. In this case, there’s a lot of attention in the underground media relative to this president’s history of kiddie groping and that’s on video. His daughter claims to enjoy showering with him when she was a youngster. His statements that slip out because of his dementia throw fuel on the fire.
The waitress in pigtails complaining about being “fetishized” and being “nervous” about why she’s getting bigger tips is in the wrong business. Men and women would rather be served by young women in short skirts and low cut blouses - what a surprise.

Recalling her waitress jobs of some 45 years back, my wife said the biggest tip differentials were cleavage driven. She was extremely good looking, but not especially busy, LOL.
She never mentioned pigtails...but styles change. She had beautiful strawberry blonde hair, but that didn’t seem to matter.
During my 4 years in Germany, I never made it to Oktoberfest in Munich (77-81). I did make plans to go in '78 IIRC, but had to back out. That was the year a terrorist group planted a bomb outside the entrance, killing several Americans...it was the group I was going to go with.
Most of my weekends during the summer were spent driving up and down the Mosel River, looking for wine fests, and there were usually 2 or 3 to visit.
I'm ready to party this weekend...start a new job on Monday, just a month after being a casualty of a reorganization.
O/T, but I noticed a difference from past job hunts. Companies are going direct to Indeed and/or Linked In, bypassing staffing agencies. Second, CPA firms are losing business to companies bringing their tax work in house. The company I hired with created a new position for exactly that reason, they were getting dissatisfied with the turnaround on their tax work.

Some of my young male relatives are handsome & friendly, and made a killing off of tips from women.
Female defendants used to be (still are?) coached how to dress for court to appear sweet and innocent.

I remember when “The Tilted Kilt” (Scottish Hooters) opened across the street. I stopped over for lunch. I sat down at the bar and the bartender called me “Sweety” and touched me on the wrist when she served me a drink.
I immediately knew she was “working me” for a better tip.
FYI, my wife was a waitress at several restaurants in her teens and twenties.
Men who sit at the bar with the beer cooler located on the other side below the bar give the biggest tips.
Wow, people still go to restaurants. Amazing.
For some quirky reason, my first thought was of Willie Nelson in pigtails (braids). Eeeek!
