I first became concerned about the CIA after 9/11 when we were trying to find bin Laden in the Bora Bora caves. It was said the CIA had mapped these caves, but they couldn’t find the maps. So he escaped for a number of years hiding in Pakistan. After a few years of observation, and especially after the 2003 invasion of Iraq I concluded someone did not want bin Laden caught. And a result was a lot of warfare, and a great many military contracts making some people very very rich.
Unfortunately, people are saying things like this about the war in Ukraine. However, I believe Putin and others really are the bad guys here and we must stop his aggression now. I just hope the IRS and others will make successful efforts to prevent the MIC from gaining EXCESS PROFITS, and underpaying their workers.
I have read that one of the big problems with the CIA is the shift from HUMINT (information from inside sources) to less specific sources of information. Our country’s failure to emphasize learning foreign languages is one reason it is so hard to develop HUMINT. Being able to talk at depth with a potential source is extremely important. Aside from motivation as the attacked country, it really helps that the Ukranians can communicate directly with Russians or listen to their various devices for information.
I first became concerned about the CIA in 1961, with the Bay of Pigs fiasco.
Since Europe had no concerns about their actions, why should you & I pay for what will end up being another waste of our money like Afghanistan, & Iraq were?
You, and all the others you responded to, are woefully ignorant about this conflict and the real consequences this war have for our nation.

Zelensky is now the Ukranian President who led his nation to the defeat of the Russian invaders. History will be the record of the Zelensky led Russian defeat that in process provoked Europe and the US and many others to fall in line against the Russian menace
That has Jimmy Carter's fingerprints all over it. CIA was entirely TOO effective in SE Asia; the democRATS of the day did not want that to happen again.
If you remember correctly they said they have bankrupted Russia. Just the opposite has been the reality. Russia's economy is fundamentally more sound than our economy is.
You foolishly people do not even understand that you are playing right into the desires of the world's elites. They desire the destruction of the U.S., for once that occurs the rest of the world collapses, and communism prevails.
You ignore the facts. Our southern border is being invaded with this administration welcoming all comers. At the same time you believe the goal here is to protect Ukraine's sovereignty. The diametrical juxtapose between the two do not jive, yet you do not even stop to question that reality
You people remind me of Black Americans who have looked to the Democrat Party as their saviors, when it was the Democrat Party that enslaved them and kept the Black Americans second class citizens for decades after they were granted their freedom along with citizenship.
They want to destroy this nation, and you foolish people are helping them to achieve their goal. Like leftists, no one can make you see the truth, because you refuse to see the truth. It is you who is reciting history, by trying to make the claim that Russia & Putin are as evil as the USSR actually was. You are fast asleep when it comes to reality in this time in history.
Wake up, America is at the precipice, and you are pissing away our resources.
