Police remove snake from Alabama toilet

Photo courtesy of the Eufaula Police Department/Facebook Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Police in Alabama responded to a residence to deal with an unusual situation when the homeowner found a snake in their toilet.

The Eufaula Police Department said officers with the day shift responded to help a homeowner who found a snake in their toilet bowl.

"We never know from one day to the next what kind of call we will receive during our shift," the department said in a Facebook post.

The snake, a "harmless" gray rat snake, was released in "a more suitable habitat," the department said.

"In the snakes defense, he was just trying to reach the homeowner about their car's extended warranty," the post quipped.

It's just a chicken snake (Pantherophis spiloides). It's not only the greatest snake in the world but one of the best animals period to have as a pet. They're local, plentiful, free, grow humongous, and are as gentle as can be.

There's no need at all to be afraid of a chicken snake.

A snake once fell out of a tree and landed around my mother’s shoulders.

Another time a snake fell out of a tree and landed on my wife’s kayak.......................

Ducky has been an awesome pet. While he has struck at me, it was half hearted, if he had Wanted to, he had me. Even my wife has come to be comfortable around him.

Yes, they are an invasive species from people buying them as pets and then they get loose and breed like rats.

They eat up peoples gardens and landscaping and rest in trees.

When the weather turns cold, they, being reptilians, literally freeze to death, and fall out of the trees!................

Lol. I grew up eating rattlesnake. It tasted like frog legs, and I imagine these are the same. A chicken/fish combination.
