It's just a chicken snake (
Pantherophis spiloides). It's not only the greatest snake in the world but one of the best
animals period to have as a pet. They're local, plentiful, free, grow humongous, and are as gentle as can be.
There's no need at all to be afraid of a chicken snake.
I’m not afraid of non-poisonous snakes.
My wife, OTOH, the only good snake is a dead snake, no matter what!...............
