Actually, my family is among those being offered Spanish citizenship. Spain reached out to the family and most became Protestants, while some eventually became Catholics, in the New World.
So, spare me what it is that you claim to know, because it is not relevant. They were Jewish and were kicked out. They were heavily discriminated against in the Spanish colony they went to, but eventually became well-respected, despite not being allowed into the cities for many years.

If you believe there was a systematic action to force conversions to Catholicism in Spain, you would be stating propaganda.
Seemed reasonable until DNA became widely available.
With the rise of Islam, most Jews in Islamic territory were separated from most Jews in Christian territory, with the expected result that various customs and family lines became increasingly separated.
There were even smaller groups that developed mostly isolated from both, such as Krymchaks.

Why are you so defensive? Also, the point is that Jews were not killed just because they didn’t become Catholics. They were sometimes forced out of Spain (absolutely true) but not murdered by the Church or crown for not converting.
