European governments have had decades to construct and deploy solar panels and windmills, and didn't (at least not enough to at least supply enough power for home electric heaters). Yet they went ahead with Electric Vehicle mandates, which are powered by (mostly) fossil fuels.

Lucky for my extended family I own 7 acres of woods 1/3 spruce ( family use to make shingles out of them. 1/3 hardwood, mostly oak, and 1/3 pine. Last winter we lost some trees so some aged wood.
One hopes you are correct, however GloboHomoNazis with military automatic weapons at your door can be convincing.
There will also be more regime changes in Europe but not in Russia.
If these climate change elixer types believed what they were sellin’ they’d be buying up air conditioning units ahead of the coming winter heat wave.

I can imagine, and we’re not too far behind.
Joe Bastardi, who seems to do rather well with his midrange forecasts, forecasted a very mild, long summer that would last through October. Then he said Nov, Dec, and Jan were going to be really rough in the northeast.
Not sure what he’s saying for the rest of the country or the later part of winter. I just paid enough attention to what he was predicting to get us set for the winter.
Before the snow flies and the prices skyrocket, we are going to top off our propane, fuel oil, and try to have as much firewood cut, split, and stacked to get us into next year.
We also had a phenomenal harvest from my garden this year so will have enough food to manage with what we get from the stores as well.
Hope it destroys the green energy scum too.

If that supply dries up, then the pellet stoves are useless.
I realize that they are easier and cleaner, but with our wood stove, we can always find fuel. It does grow on trees.
That’s a huge problem they will be facing.
They are doing the cutting and splitting now but that wood needs almost a year to season properly. No way will it be ready to burn in a couple months.
Another thought: The reason California doesn’t build much-needed desalination plants is... the Greenies object to the power required that presently use fossil fuels!

It always takes a tragedy (though this is really not a tragedy) for the majority of people to wake up. But they (and conversely us) need to be taught a hard lesson in reality.
The only thing that can change the mind of some liberals is their own death. A few might come to their senses.
I think there’s now an ADULT, Putin, helping Europe understand that throwing away reliable energy sources is NOT something that should be done lightly.
Europe will be ok, in the long run, regarding energy, thanks to Putin’s help. Their MUCH BIGGER problem is their ‘new arrivals’. They’ll have to revert to their nasty days of the past to deal with that problem, if they even want to survive as Europe.

Awhile back I was reading about Stalin’s purges. Many innocent party members were caught up in those purges. Some were tortured to make them confess.
But others confessed voluntarily, even knowing they’d then be executed. They falsely confessed because they felt that the purges were needed to clear out counterrevolutionary elements. So if their execution would help that noble goal, so be it.
I guess my point is that one should never underestimate the insanity of communists / liberals.
1984 is more of a guide rather than a work of fiction.
