Previously unseen pictures of Elon Musk are being auctioned by his college girlfriend. He and Jennifer Gwynne dated in 1994 and 1995 when he studied at the University of Pennsylvania. The collection of pictures are being sold by Boston-based RR Auction with bids closing on Thursday. They might have dated almost three decades ago, but Elon Musk's university girlfriend has decided that now is the right time to sell pictures she took of him back then.

Musk and Jennifer Gwynne began dating in the fall of 1994 when they both lived in a dorm at the University of Pennsylvania, according to Boston-based RR Auction.

Take a look at the collection, which includes a love note from Musk to Gwynne. It has attracted a bid of more than $6,800 - by far the highest so far.

The auction ends on September 15.

He met Gwynne when he was 23 years old and studying at the University of Pennsylvania.

Musk studied physics and economics at UPenn before moving to a doctorate course in materials science at Stanford University.

Yep.

All that male resources/utility she feels entitled to, she can’t have.

Penn was always known as a party school. We at Temple liked to study and party. /sarcasm

Actually Penn students were very nice people.

I don’t get this. Evidently folks think it will be worth
more down the road.

Boy, have they got that wrong if I’m any gauge of what
they would get. Zilch! Still, there are folks out there
who will pay.

For speculation, I suppose so. Just because they idolize
him, get a life.

She was the type of friend known as a F**K Buddy! Or a friend with “benefits”. The type you NEVER marry but keep around for relaxation.

What a cheap loser she is for this and Musk saw that decades ago.

Without passing judgment on her, I think the first photo above is pretty sweet. Adds humanness to Elon’s mystique.

My teen and his peers are convinced Musk is a true genius, while I’m still waiting to be persuaded, although coming around. I am persuaded Gates, Zuckerberg, Bezos are not geniuses, rather they are cutouts and/or positionally stemmed from money and connections.

I wonder how many of us had raging hormones when we were 23?

While I managed to keep the snake caged until I was married, I had an awfully lot of contemporaries who did not.

I've read a couple of Musk's bios...no doubt...he's a genius.

Read the bios...he's amazing.

LOL, same thing here. She must be a shallow person. I am going to guess she “reached out” to him...and the return message was “hi, hope you are ok, bye”.

Seems a bit harsh. She’s not selling pecker pics or whatever. Nothing malicious here. Lots of people sell autographs, etc., of famous people they know.

Bezos did not come from money.

Then there's this from Wiki: "He was high school valedictorian, a National Merit Scholar, and a Silver Knight Award winner in 1982. In 1986, he graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a 4.2 GPA and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree (B.S.E.) in electrical engineering and computer science; he was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa."

I'd say there's a pretty good chance he's actually a genius.

> “Bezos did not come from money.”

He came from connections. Note it posted from money and connections. His connections had all the money in the world so to say.

His father (step) was CIA.

After grooming at Wall St’s DE Shaw, Bezos was positioned in 1994 at the Amazon startup ostensibly for logistics, and media acquisitions.

Amazon never made a profit until 2011, 17 years later. And that profit was a quarterly profit after cooking some book entries. The profit was necessary because a government agency can never openly invest in a losing business.

Note again: Bezos is a CIA kid, just like Susan Rice.

Almost immediately after Amazon’s prepared profit, the CIA announces the first of many $10 billion contracts to AMZN for “Cloud Services” with instructions to Bezos to buy up the bankruptcy teetering Washington Post. WAPO is a CIA leak channel, propaganda at a discount.

Jeff did what he was told.

There are many retailers smarter than Jeff Bezos and his Amazon. But they don’t have the connections, they don’t have $10B CIA money bombs falling from the sky. If Sears had had that kind of money dropped on them, they’d be bigger than Walmart and AMZN combined.

I met Jeff at Amazon in Seattle in 1995 for a ‘practice’ job interview while working on my doctorate. He’s a good natured bright guy but not a genius. He takes orders from others. Whereas Musk gets an idea and ponders, Bezos will incline to “let’s see about that” with a tacit reference to what those upstairs might think.

Again, Elon thinks, evaluates, and develops if there is merit. Jeff passes it up the chain, then waits to hear back.

In those years he attended U of P, I was living in that neighborhood. Interesting to think I might’ve passed him on the street, ridden the same trolley, ordered takeout at the same places and ate at the same restaurants, etc. Though I lived there, I took classes at Temple myself.
