A Texas teacher has been fired after she was caught on tape instructing students not to use the word 'pedophiles', but instead use the term 'minor attracted persons'.
Amber Parker, 53, who taught English at Franklin High School in El Paso was fired after making the comments in class which were all captured on video and subsequently shared to social media.
During the 18-second long clip that was posted to TikTok, the teacher can be heard telling students to 'stop calling them that. You're not allowed to label people like that. Stop it, Diego.'
'We're not gonna call them that,' Parker can be heard instructing her English students in the video.
We're gonna call them MAPs, minor attracted persons. So don't judge people just because they wanna have sex with a five-year-old.'
The term minor attracted persons allows people to escape the 'stigma' attached to the word pedophile.
The school district was immediately informed of the incident which occurred last week and an investigation was launched initially leading to Parker's suspension and subsequent firing.
It wasn't clear in what context the discussion had been taking place however students have said it was all part of a class debate as they prepared to read The Crucible.

This firing may actually have been a ‘jump the gun’ mistake.
I get the impression, this lady was not defending pedophiles, but had gotten caught up in today’s trend to never call things by their proper name. If this is what happened, it is unfortunate, as at age 55, she was getting close to retirement. Why am I second guessing that school board?
Because her class was reading The Crucuble by Arthur Miller.
The Crucible is a novel about events that lead up to the Salen Witch Trials. So, it could be this English teacher was trying to slow kids down from quickly labeling someone else’s behavior. All well and good intellectually, but this is NOT the time to even look as though you are ‘sticking up for’ pedophiles in any way.
Is sex and racial grievances all that is discussed in public education classes these days? Do they ever venture into other subjects?

I must have skimmmed over the first time. Yes, I did miss reading that Mr. Call had changed his mind, and was no longer willing to defend her. Wow. How sad for the kids. Another person they thought was safe to trust.

A student who was in the class told KFOX14 the video was taken out of context.
“She [teacher] was expressing how it was ridiculous how we [society] might not be able to call people pedophiles. That we [society] will probably have to start calling them MAPs because it can be offensive to them [pedophiles]. The class agreed,” Ryann Ruvalcaba, a junior at Franklin High School said.

What a monster! Hopefully, she never teaches again. As somebody currently unemployed myself, I wouldn’t normally wish continued unemployment on anybody, but in her case, it’s appropriate.

So “minor attracted persons” is going to be okay now (like they did already with illegals (undocumented) and criminals (participant in the justice system) cons let out of prison (decarcerated).
But the “minor attracted persons” moving across from elementary schools and playgrounds while on the sex offenders lists may “attract” some furious “normal” parents.
