EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
The way my brain feels this morning, I figured I was going to be at least 6/6 if not X/6. But here it is!

Good morning. Happy Friday!
We had temps in the 30s this morning. Brrrr.
But, on to the day. At least my 2nd guess was a good one.

Sweet little floof!!
Good morning.
Did you sleep well? Hopefully with no cats and a minimum of sciatic pain.
I should have started my letter to Charlie, but I’ve been surfing. Bad habit, I think.
The door may have to wait until tomorrow to get painted. I’ll have to see how I feel by the time I come out of the shower.
I had a lie-in until almost 7:00, since our day is pretty much cancelled due to rain, which is falling steadily. Not especially windy, though.
I think the cat came by at some point, and my leg ached mildly. It appears Uptown was having some hurricane parties. Sally sent me snaps of Anoreth and her fiance looking cheerful.
When Sandy hit NYC a few of my daughter’s friends walked much of Manhattan in the pouring rain and blowing wind to visit us because they were bored. We offered to let them stay, but they walked back. Fortunately they were not harmed.
Youth.
Ah. So Anoreth’s beau has become official status! Congratulations to them! You’ll have to keep me up on the date so I can send an appropriate something.
I don’t think folks in this neck of the woods have tornado parties, but who would want to? I just want to get away from Tornado Alley. Prayers are still going thick and fast to that end!
It was 48° again this morning, and the high for the day is only in the mid-seventies.
Wow. The invincibility of Youth. They don’t know they have mortal bodies.
They’re getting married on December 17, if nothing goes wrong. We need to get them to come over and discuss details!
Wow. Walking around Manhattan during Sandy is an interesting story your daughter will always have. What a fun memory! (Now.)
My youngest sister was living in Manhattan at the time. She lost water and power, but both were restored pretty quickly.
Good morning and Happy Friday! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
It’s beginning to feel a little autumnal here, going down into the 50s at night. We could sure use some rain, though.
I’m on the four-train today.

Congrats Anoreth!
A word to the wise. Having an anniversary near Christmas DOES help the husband remember, but it really cuts down on the gifts.
Great! Thanks!
I keep a supply of Somethings on hand for just such occasions.
Would that be Mrs. and Mr. Anoreth? ;o])
The nights are very cool here, but that’s OK. I can open my door in the early morning and the place will cool off so I don’t need to run the A/C too soon.
Good job on the fours! It seems to be contagious!
No rain for us for another week....
I don’t think they’re overly concerned about gifts.
Sally just called to complain that Pat is a gormless geek. What a surprise!
So Sally has forgotten that the boy who became invisible grew up into the young man who is still working at finding a way to really become that to go into another dimension. Surprise, surprise. Not.
Yeah, I get it about the gift thing. Lots of folks are like that. But I still keep some things on hand, just-in-case!
She’s trying to train him to wash his dishes. On the plus side, her cat has taken to him.
I’m thinking about a nap.
Good to hear that your sister got through without any major problems!
Late start again for me...
Congrats on those 3’s and 4’s...
5 row slog for me today...
