When Sandy hit NYC a few of my daughter’s friends walked much of Manhattan in the pouring rain and blowing wind to visit us because they were bored. We offered to let them stay, but they walked back. Fortunately they were not harmed.

Youth.

Wow. Walking around Manhattan during Sandy is an interesting story your daughter will always have. What a fun memory! (Now.)

My youngest sister was living in Manhattan at the time. She lost water and power, but both were restored pretty quickly.
