EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
I don’t mind 78 normally, but I’ve been feeling it the last few days.
I can’t keep it any cooler. I’d like it warmer, but it’s too moist here, and nothing would dry out/off including me. So I keep it where I can stand it and the place is relatively dry. I use a qualifier because when I open the fridge, it takes about two seconds for condensation to form on everything in there.
I got loose.
I see that!
I hope you tighten up by tomorrow’s Wordle! ;o]
Yes, the humidity can be an issue here, too.
Good morning, Happy Friday Eve!
I’m with you, Kitteh, it takes some getting used to in here.
Temps below 60 again this morning. But at least the rains seem to have gone away for the moment.
And back to a normal 4 today.

Hang on, Kitteh! It’s gonna be a heckuva ride!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night.
My day was physically stressful, so I slept quite well. For me, that is.
The only thing on the docket for today is sorting the pills. Outside of that, nothing, and I need to try and keep it that way because of tomorrow’s MRI. Unngh.
Good Friday Eve to you!
Great job on the Foursie.
We’re at 61Β° this morning, with only a high of 88Β° predicted.
I’ll work on the Wordle in a minute....
We’re over here, Kids! We moved in a hurry because the new digs were just waiting to be smothered in posts.
βThe picture shows coal miners not mining coal, and an EV on the road... Thatβs what they want.β
And it shows hard working Americans pushing the car of a liberal.
Also what they want.
Human energy is solar energy.
Iβm with you on that one. π€’
No cat. I was asleep when my alarm went off.
I made some posters yesterday for the forestry lecture, but I need to pull the rest of it together today.
Not happy with today’s effort because it was too stinkin’ easy for me to fail so badly.
But here it is, warts and all.

A win is a win.
Good that you were able to sleep to the alarm!
Yeah, I get it about pulling the rest of the lecture together today.
We had another “inspection” yesterday, but this time, it was one of the owners as well as the manager. Mona called me when they had gone and asked if they had said anything and what the owner did. Well, the owner mostly stood in the doorway, and once ventured over to the sink (three steps away) and checked to see if the garbage disposal worked. (It does.)
I guess their main interest was the emergency light over the entrance. It seems I have a bulb out. But it also seems I was saved by the bell. Literally. I heard the bells as the inspections moved closer to my apartment and went into the bathroom and bedroom to remove the tape I had on the emergency strings in those rooms. I’m always afraid I’ll pull one by mistake, just because of where they are, so I taped the stings up.
It seems Mona got gigged because a pillow was in front of her bedroom emergency switch string.
My opinion on this whole thing is that once the Suits know what kind of housekeeper you are, you can do no wrong. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!
In most places, inspections are once or twice a year. Here, though, it’s quarterly.
I think they should be much faster and more effective at making repairs. (My mom says the same thing about her building.)
Good Morning!
As far as the Wordle, I am in your camp, ‘Face...
good grief, I thought that I was going to fall right through the bottom with letters to spare...
