EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
Awww... What sweet kitteh babies!
Good morning. Did you sleep well?
When I finally fell back asleep, I was having a wonderful dream and didn’t want to come out of it. I was wandering through someone’s house for sale and it was full of beautiful wooden trim, closets, staircase. You name it. I wanted to see the rest of the house but only got as far as the living room.
I have the pain clinic appointment this morning and the only thing good about it is being with my FS for the few minutes it takes to go there and come back. So, off to the shower I go.
We had some cat issues last night, but I’ll be fine until naptime. It’s raining here.
Good luck at the pain clinic!
I’m glad that GLK is no longer sad.
Good morning. Happy Humph Day!
Should I say it twice?
The temperature is a little lower today than it has been, but it’s still reasonable.
Still no word on the damaged car. Maybe the insurance people are looking at the damage to help determine fault. I remember the rule used to be the car that hit the other was at fault. And the other car definitely hit my daughter’s. Oh, well. I’m sure this will eventually play out.
5-spot today.

Yesterday was warm and foggy and today its cold and foggy.
I took a tepid shower because I didn’t get up early enough to let the water heat properly. Unngh.
The batteries died in my BP cuff, so I had to replace them before I could take a reading. I took a photo of it then realized it read “1/1” instead of “1/4” which is today. So I had to dig out the instruction booklet and reset the data. The next reading I took was off the chart, of course.
And I just realized that in my hurry to have to downtime before I leave, I forgot to put lotion on. Is this Monday?
Would someone kill this thread, Al Gore could not possibly care less. He is getting rich off this climate crisis crap and that is all he cares about.
This reminds me of Castro's funeral jeep that broke down and had to be pushed. Dogma gets run over by Karma moments!
Sometimes, it’s easy to see who hit whom, but other times, it takes a real scientist to figure it out. I hope they don’t lollygag around about it. I’m sure the insurance money will be useful.
Good job on the Fiver! Often, it’s just really hard to figure out what the Wordle bot wants.
Happy Hmpf Day, Wordle Fans!
I’m still having a hard time writing “2023” on things, but I hope that doesn’t last long. There’s almost a whole year of it ahead of me!

Good luck with your Wordles!
(If you want on or off the Wordle Ping list, please let me know!)
Well, if the other car has a dented front fender, and my daughter’s first bit of damage is the wheel, then it seems the other car hit my daughter. But that’s just me.
Good Morning!
A bit cooler here this morning as well, but nice and sunny!
What a setup... from almost getting another 2, to almost running out of rows...

Good Morning to you guys as well, apparently my paste into the address line didn’t take...
To err is human.
To really foul things up requires a computer.
That, is very true!
Absolutely correct! Some things are easy to figure out.
I hope they don’t cancel her insurance, though, because it seems that’s what insurance companies like to do these days.
Oh, I hate when that happens!!
I’m really sorry about your cat issues last night.
I’m finally back from my appointment. FS took me to breakfast afterwards and we had some fun over the breakfast table. He was talking in character voices from “The Princess Bride,” which doubled me up.
But I always have fun with him, when it’s a one-n-one situation.
He’ll be gone most of the month of January. They’re going to CA, AZ and then UT then fly back home in time for him to gather up his work trailer for a trip to Maryland to do some handyman work for an attorney who just moved there from here. So I won’t see much of him.
January has always been a bleak month for starting a new year.
Ya think?
January is when I was in the accident that nearly took my life. And I wasn’t driving. But to this day, I’m a very nervous passenger.
So I agree.
I’m glad you enjoyed breakfast. Jake started a fight with Shannon about 2:00 a.m., and when I went downstairs to break it up, he insisted on going outside in the rain. And didn’t want to come back. So I went back to bed, and he was wet and furious when I got up at 6:00!
He has spent the whole day, so far, in Vlad’s bed, which is not occupied by Vlad because he’s at the slum apartment taking care of Sally’s needy cat.
