The Mysteries of Long COVID
American Greatness ^ | 31 Aug, 2022 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 09/01/2022 5:31:13 AM PDT by MtnClimber

Long COVID may be one of many reasons why in a recession, labor paradoxically still remains scarce.

When the original strain of COVID-19 arrived in spring 2020, a pandemic soon swept the country.

By far most survived COVID. But hundreds of thousands did not. American deaths now number well over 1 million.

Amid the tragedy, there initially was some hope that the pernicious effects of the disease would all disappear upon recovery among the nearly 99 percent who survived the initial infection.

Vaccinations by late 2020 were promised to end the pandemic for good. But they did not. New mutant strains, while more infectious, were said to be less lethal, thus supposedly resulting in spreading natural immunity while causing fewer deaths from infection.

But that too was not quite so.

Instead, sometimes the original symptoms, sometimes frightening new ones, not only lingered after the acute phase, but were of increased morbidity.

Now two-and-a-half years after the onset of the pandemic, there may be more than 20 million Americans who have had are are still suffering from what is currently known as “long COVID”—a less acute version but one ultimately as debilitating.

Some pessimistic analyses suggest well over 4 million once-active Americans are now disabled from this often-ignored pandemic and out of the workforce.

Perhaps 10-30 percent of those originally infected with COVID-19 have some lingering symptoms six months to a year after the initial infection. And they are quite physically sick, desperate to get well, and certainly not crazy.

So far, no government Marshall plan exists to cure long COVID.

While we know the nature of the virus well by now, no one fathoms what causes long COVID’s overwhelming fatigue, flu-like symptoms, neuralgic impairment, cardiac and pulmonary damage, and an array of eerie problems from extended loss

Go play in your bunker conspiracy theorist. I personally know two people, two otherwise healthy people that COVID killed in a horrible choking death. You are just ignorant.

My oldest son got it and his temp spiked to 107. The hospital did nothing at all for him, since his wife gave him Advil. My manager got it and the hospital did nothing and had a miserable three weeks. I got it and it was a big nothing.

The problem is that hospitals around the country did nothing for early, aggressive treatment when a person became ill, and instead did nothing. The hospitals followed CDC guidance, and far more people died sooner than otherwise.

We will never know the true numbers and they will always be open to argument. For example one person I knew, around 50 years old in good shape (worked for a moving company) got COVID and within a week was in the hospital. There his liver shut down and he had bleeding in the lungs. Within days he was dead. Did COVID kill him or would some here just say he had liver problems and a bad flu ???

I had it at the beginning of the year and it was mild for me. I was hoping by now we might have heard of some progress or at least interest in finding the reason behind why this thing affects people so differently. Other viruses have standard symptoms and outcomes for the most part.

I believe that Covid coupled with the VAX is the true Bio-Weapon. Both Covid and the VAX cause their own problems individually but the combination is more deadly.

“long covid” provides a lot of people a fresh excuse for they’re lack of initiative. Not all; but a lot.

The other question is what did they doctors do for treatment at the hospital. Ventilators and remdesivir damaged people’s lung and destroyed their organs. More people likely died from the treatment rather than the covid.

COVID causes severe blood clots in some people, particularly in the lungs. It is one of the things that doctors have been studying and that apparently is unique to COVID. He did not get remdesivir to the best of my knowledge (although I am not a family member so I do not know his exact treatment). As for a ventilator, that is not what kills you, when they put you on one because they have to at that point, you are cruising toward dead anyway, it’s just a matter of time.

Remdesivir is known to destroy the liver. if he took any of the vaxes he would be one of many who had blood clots in the lungs and in tiny arteries in the body

That was a HOSTILE comment. Victor Davis Hanson, the author of this article, is suffering from long Covid. He is struggling to maintain his work schedule.

I have had COVID twice. My first bout was in late 2019 before there were even tests for the virus. However, I had all the symptoms of COVD. I was sick and had persistent respiratory problems that hung on for some six months, but I fully recovered. I took the first two Pfizer shots, not that I believed they would do much of anything, but so I had a vaccine passport which I knew would become almost a necessity to even have a job. I declined all the boosters. I had several COVD tests during the last two years as required for other medical procedures…all the tests were negative

My second bout of COVD was in May of 2022. I had vague viral symptoms and went to a local walk in clinic. The doctor was almost certain I had the flu and did the usual nasal swab flu test, but almost as an afterthought also did a COVID swab. My flu tests came back negative, but my COVID test was positive. I spent five days in home quarantine being only mildly ill for a couple of days and then went back to work feeling fine. I have not had any of the reported long COVID symptoms. Based on my experience I have doubts that this long COVID syndrome is real, but is just more media hype and CDC propaganda.

If I had long covid I would be taking ivermectin and other supplements. The detailed protocols are on the internet.

Plus if you have the dough, 30, 40 hyperbaric sessions like Kyle the professional trail biker did to recover from his serious vaxxx injury. As seen here>>> About 30 minutes in for his hyperbaric testimony>>>>

The reason most of us survived it was because it leaked out before the chicomms could finish playing with it. JMO.

He was not vaccinated. Why are you spinning in circles trying to blame everything but COVID ??? The blood clot/COVID relationship is well known and was identified very early on in the pandemic. They just do not understand how COVID causes the clots but they are found in many people and are an especial concern for those with existing clotting disorders (which most people don’t even know they have).
