Keep voting for republicans and eventually MS can be last in everything. Or at least be proudly neck and neck with KY for the bottom spot.

The city of Jackson is Democrat controlled and has been for many years. They own/operate/maintain the water system. I’m not saying that matters, but the facts matter.

It's the barber's fault.

Moving water won’t freeze.
Pipes full of water, especially old pipes, will be totally destroyed.
Hey, but your politicians are diverse

Thanks Rod for the CNN quote.

... from CNN: “Advocates have previously pointed to systemic and environmental racism as among the causes of Jackson’s ongoing water issues and lack of resources to address them. ...

Here is a quote from a Politico article on Taliaferro from March 2021 ... a full year and a half before this latest fiasco.

(March 2021) On the same day as the firetruck christening, a truck loaded with bottles of drinking water arrived at the parking lot of Forest Hill High School shortly after 8 a.m. The cars started pulling up about 20 minutes later, even before the arrival of the youth volunteers.

It was a month earlier, in mid-February 2021, that the big winter storm had battered the city’s ailing infrastructure, leaving residents and businesses without water. The city and nonprofit groups spent a month distributing both drinking water and water to flush toilets, while working to rebuild water pressure across Jackson. This Friday morning event, more than 30 days after residents first lost water, was one of the last water distributions in the city.

Even though there’s no longer an official boil water advisory, many residents here still don’t trust the city’s water. Not Veronica Thomas, who was picking up water for the fifth time, for her and her four kids. Not Byron Watts, who was picking up water for an elderly neighbor; he and his wife can afford to buy bottled water to drink and brush their teeth, and they boil tap water to wash their dishes. Not Lorean Young, a retiree who is slowly regaining water pressure in her house. Not Lisa Hunt, who still boils her drinking water.

And the mayor's response to all of the water crisis's in Jackson?

Sue Seimens for work from a decade ago, and four Jackson MS minority subcontractors who did not support the mayor in a reelection bid.

In a memo accompanying Garrett Enterprises Consolidated's motion to dismiss the City of Jackson's complaint, filed last November, Carson raised questions about the relationships between unnamed subcontractors and the mayor.

"The only common thread amongst these particular minority subcontractors, as contrasted to the subcontractors not sued, appears to be that these particular defendants did not fund or otherwise support the current mayor or his father in their campaigns for mayor, but rather supported one or more opposing candidates," Carson stated in the legal memo.

But it is the legislature that is the problem. Yeah.

Wow. I drive thru Miss pretty often. I’ve learned and gotten into the habit of the ole fuel gauge being on F before I hit the state line. Next time I’ll make sure I’ve a case of fresh water too.

The idea that water service is “free” is very common among black communities. And of course cutting off water service to a black mother with 4 kids is not a good optic for city politicians. So, not only do they often not have enough revenue for operations, they can’t afford to repair or upgrade the system.

Same thing happened in Flint, Michigan, but of course leftists blamed on evil white white Republicans.

I think Tucker outed the mayor who said he was going to make his city the most radical city in the country. Well, he sure is well on his way.

I guess these type leftists actually need competent conservatives around to beat up on because those are the people needed to run things.

One truth is that trying to rule things based on ideology only leads to massive failure and destruction.
