For Chris Rock, returning to the 2023 Oscars would be like returning to the scene of a crime.
The 57-year-old comedian told a Phoenix comedy show audience on Sunday that he was asked to emcee next year’s event — but declined the opportunity.
According to the Arizona Republic, the “Everybody Hates Chris” alum told the crowd that going back to the Oscars would be like asking Nicole Brown Simpson “to go back to the restaurant” where she left her eyeglasses before she killed, in a reference to the murder trial of O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted in the case.

At a mature 57, Chris seems to have no desire to hang out with Hollywood’s twenty-somethings with a sixth grade education who think they know everything.

Nicole Brown Simpson did not leave her eyeglasses at the Mezzaluna restaurant.
The eyeglasses belonged to Nicole’s mother, Juditha Brown.
Juditha’s eyeglasses fell out of the car when Juditha Brown exited the vehicle in front of the restaurant.
Someone found them and brought them into the restaurant and gave them to an employee.
Ron Goldman knew Nicole, so he volunteered to bring them to Nicole’s condo after the dinner party had left.
The rest is history.....
Nah. It would be more like going to a George Floyd rally and reminding people he was “just a junkie”.

Of course they want him back—the ratings would be through the roof.
Rock knows he would not really benefit from that.
Good for him.
So, did Chris Rock say he thinks Nicole killed someone, or is it a badly written story leaving out “was” killed, or did he really say that as written which shows he doesn’t know how to use the English language correctly?
He should have accepted just so he could walk on stage in a suit of armor.
