I posted the other day about the high prices at the Ky State fair we went to 2 days ago.
What I didn’t mention is an official warned the grand boys not to pet the pigs in cages as swine flu was a remote possibility.
Now I know what he was talking about.

If that was the case; that those pigs on display at the State Fair may have the Pig Flu Virus, then those animals should have been kept further away from people. If there was no room to keep the pigs further away, then by all means, tell people the possible danger. I know most state fair livestock displays are usually very jam pack crowded. I used to go to the one in Detroit, Mi with my own Dad.

Bring Out Your Dead

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
The false positive rate was 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Quarantine the sick. Protect the vulnerable. Hang the guilty. Free everyone else.

5 people got swine flu? That is about the same number that got swine flu in 1976 during the Jimmy Carter flu panic! More people died standing in line for the shot than died of the flu.
And when one man finally came down with it, the news media swamped him!

I can tolerate some vaccines, but I’ll never take those three again.
