Kiev has the right to siphon off supplies destined for the EU, a Ukrainian politician claims.
The former chairman of Ukraine’s parliament, the Rada, Dmitry Razumkov has stated that Kiev has the right to confiscate Russian gas that flows to the EU through Ukraine, and sell it in order to solve the country’s economic problems.
“The gas that is transported through the territory of Ukraine is Russian. To the border with Europe, it is Russian gas. And if we act in accordance with the law, we e should confiscate it,” he said in a video posted on Facebook on Friday.
Kiev then could sell the fuel to Europe and use the proceeds to address its financial shortfalls, Razumkov suggested. He also called the confiscation of Russian property “a legal obligation” of Ukraine.
Russia is the largest supplier of gas to the EU, part of which is pumped via pipelines passing through Ukraine.
In December 2019, Moscow and Kiev agreed to extend the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine for the period of 2020-2024, with the possibility of extending the agreement for another ten years. The contract envisages transiting 65 bcm of gas in 2020 and 40 bcm annually from 2021 to 2024.
Back in 2006, parts of Europe were left without heat during one of the coldest winters on record after Ukraine started siphoning off Russian gas destined for the European market.

It won’t surprise me if the EU accepts the idea by paying Kiev instead of Moscow.
Then the flow is going to stop and they’d scream that Russia is an unreliable supplier and it is an act of economic warfare, without mentioning that they declared the economic war first.
(high energy bills are something UK households must endure)
Gee ...
That sounds oddly familiar...👍

(UK) Stoves set to replace central heating for many this winter as gas price crisis sparks surge in firewood orders
"Log sellers across the country say they are enjoying record demand, with firms reporting sales jumps of up 60 per cent on this time last year and new customers calling to place orders “every day”."

Can I siphon off electricity by connecting to power supply wires before those reach the meter?
Wait, Ukraine relies on Western Europe for money and weapons and they want to confiscate gas Europe needs? Then Russia wouldn’t send any at all.
Not the best thought out plan.
Doesn't everybody?
Mother Zel’s little helper...
Maybe if they blackmail EU under the table it might work. Cash under the table or we’ll take the pipeline down. “Emergency transit fee” sounds legit.
New Scott Ritter w/Judge Napolitano (Judging Freedon) video from today just out.

For the first time he talks about the HUGE aviation campaign that Russia has prepared. I have posted about this for the last 2 weeks and it has already begun...over the last two days. Russia claims it will be the biggest in the last 30 years and have deployed over 400+ planes and 300+ helos.
All hell is about to break lose, or to quote Ritter, “They are about to drop the hammer.”

Yeah, the guys were were talking about it today, I think.
Well, in defense of Ukraine, the West wasn’t ready to exchange nuclear bombs with Russia, over a bunch of Nazis terrorizing Russian speakers, so yea, Ukraine might as well do as they please.
The Russians are busy redirecting all they can to Asia, and to use all they can’t to make plastics and fertilizers which is more added value.
Euros are screwed in more ways than they imagine.
You probably missed the comments of the incoming UK PM Truss who said she is ready to use nukes.

I did hear. I hope an adult explains to her that her Tridents aimed at Moscow likely will be intercepted, but the return gift from Russia will not be intercepted.
That is not possible for me. Electric supply cables are underground for my house. Any other ideas?
PM Truss needs to reduce drinking.
That and the high expectation of heat from the stove, and then the reality of little to no heat from the stove! One of the most frustrating experiences in life!
