A Florida mail carrier who was attacked and savagely mauled by a pack of five dogs has died, officials announced.
Pamela Jane Rock, 61, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital on Monday night, a day after the incident in Putnam County, sheriff’s Col. Joseph Wells said during a press conference on Tuesday.
“A postal family member lost her life in a dog bite attack. The US Postal Service is deeply saddened at the loss of our employee,” a spokesperson for the United States Postal Service said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and her co-workers at this time.”

Police responded three times previous, I’m a dog person but there are a lot of them out there that need to be put down
Yeah, a mix of pitbulls.
What the heck is "dog bite attack"?
Time to bring the owners up on murder charges.
The Puppy of Peace?
Angry chihuahuas?
Absolutely.
Go after the owner and with murder charges, and post bail at 1,000,000 bucks. Do it every time and it will slowly stop.
And, yes they are pitbulls, the same breed that attacked my horses in their pasture.
Especially those with a history, like these folks.
I shoot stray pit bull dogs if they come on my property. When I checked with the police they said it was perfectly legal. People are responsible for their pets!!!!
I carry a drywall hatchet hammer with me when out walking anywhere outside my fenced back yard. Sharper than Satan’s teeth on one side and a 32 ounce hammer on the other side.
See all those concrete blocks.
They dig out, a lot.
If you have livestock, it is shoot on sight in my county/state.
I was helping a friend clean out a back yard of a house they had purchased. I noticed that the back fence had some plywood against it that was put up by the previous owner. As I walked toward the fence I heard several dogs and saw two of their heads popping up above the fence. They would run up, hit the fence on the other side then almost jump over the fence that was over 6 feet tall.
Suddenly two of the dogs ran right though the plywood and came straight for me. These were pits and the leader was coming for me but stopped and gave me that odd look dogs do where they cock their heads to the side as if they are puzzled. Why did he do that? Because I had pulled out a Glock 19 and put two rounds right between his front legs when he was about 3 feet away. No, I did not shoot him but put the rounds in to the grass.
Doing what I did gave me enough time to get out of the back yard. As soon as I closed the gate the two dogs were hitting that fence and their heads were popping up over the fence.
Somebody called animal control and the police. Animal control showed up and this little Hispanic lady with an aluminum pole with some kind of loop around it walks up and sees the very aggressive dogs going crazy on the other side of the fence. She literally yawns and walks right though the gate and within seconds comes back through the gate with the lead pooch behind her. The loop thing was around its neck and the dog looked like it wanted to pee itself. She looks at me and says “no problem”. The second dog had ran back though the fence to its yard.
The cops were in the front yard, one said to me “I would have shot both those dogs”. The second cop looks at me and says “the discharge of a firearm in city limits is a serious thing, do you need any more ammo?” Then he smiles.
Some provision needs to be made so that at risk mail carriers should be allowed to carry. Because the USPS is in a twilight zone as relates to gun laws.
Say, when President Trump is elected, he creates an XO that mail carriers, on their own, can decide to carry, and if their supervisors disagree, it becomes a contentious point with the postal union.
Even if the postal union is against guns, they still need to take the carrier’s side against “management”. Win win.
If it is something you normally work with, and you swing it like it is part of your arm, great.
A freeper who want MORE feds armed?
Heavens to Betsy!
Since when does the Post Office deliver on Sundays?
