Dr. Mehmet Oz has spent the past week defending himself from charges that he's hopelessly out of touch with most residents of Pennsylvania, where he is the Republican candidate for Senate.
Last Monday John Fetterman, Oz's Democratic opponent, resurfaced a video Oz recorded in what he called a "Wegners" — a mishmash of the Redner's and Wegmans grocery store chains — shopping for "crudité" and complaining about inflation. Fetterman's comment: "in PA, we call this a veggie tray."
In an exclusive statement as part of Insider's investigation into Oz, the doctor's campaign jabbed back. "If John Fetterman had ever eaten a vegetable in his life, then maybe he wouldn't have had a major stroke and wouldn't be in the position of having to lie about it constantly," Rachel Tripp, Oz's senior communications advisor, said.

Entirely too much of this campaign has focused on vegetables not named Joe Biden.

He’s appealing to the mass of voters who think that real men don’t say “crudités” let alone eat them.
This is a really, really stupid thing for the Oz campaign to focus on and in this way.
Like they are trying to lose and were concerned after Oz had an uptick in the polls and they need to do something to get things back on track.
Pretty sad that these are the best candidates they could find to run.
And if the new diets on Oz’s show every week worked, no one would be fat.

Personally, I think Oz is right about veggies but it hardly seems a political issue.
Except perhaps as some kind of healthcare thing. Raising cost of health care by eating junk. True.
Well, see, we’ve seen what crappy “repubs” have done for us.
McCain springs to mind. Collins comes to mind. Grahamnesty comes to mind. Mittens comes to mind. Cheney comes to mind. Murkowski comes to mind.
They held our side hostage and help the other side. They hurt the party unity you so say “we” need to have for them.
It was Fetterman who made it a political issue, and it's kind of silly. Reminds me of the 2012 race when Obama made Big Bird, a cartoon character on some government-sponsored TV program, a political issue ("if Romney is president, he'll cancel Big Bird--oh boo-hoo-hoo!"). I thought that was a dumb issue, but Obama seems to have gotten some votes out of it.
Adolf became vegan because he did not like smell of his excrement after eating meat.

But ‘tiswhatis now. D.Trump should have backed the real MAGA candidate but instead listened to “mo-ron” hanity. Fetterman is a weak candidate and Kathy would have had the best chance of kicking MAGA ash! On board with Trump but would love to see haninsanty burned to the ground. One can only hope to see a flame put to that volatile bag of gas.

Starting to see ads in PA that Fetterman supports Defund the police and bragged about wanting to reduce prison population. That will resonate with Pennsylvanians.
