Security cameras captured the shocking moment a suspect sucker-punched a man at a New York City mall, leaving the victim unconscious.
Video released by the New York Police Department on Monday shows a man standing in line at a register when two men approached him from behind.
One of the men, wearing black basketball shorts and a white t-shirt with black sneakers, soon crouches down behind the man and punches him in the side of the face, causing the 36-year-old victim to fall face-down.
The two men then start to walk away, only for the suspect in the black shorts to return moments later and leave once he saw the man's motionless body.
Others in line at the Kings Plaza Mall in Brooklyn backed away after the attack, apparently stunned by what had just transpired, with one woman seen later moving the man's belongings closer to his lifeless body.
At one point, a security guard could be seen entering the frame, but casually walks past the scene even though the victim's body is still lying face down on the ground.
Authorities now say the unprovoked attack caused the victim 'serious physical injury,' and he was brought to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.
Police also say that the victim did not appear to know his attackers and no words were exchanged between the two of them before the man punched him at around 6pm on Saturday.
They are now looking for the men involved in the attack, and have released video footage showing the suspect in the black basketball shorts exiting a black Honda Civic that evening.
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

“Kangz” Plaza Mall is what Chris Rock referred to when he mentioned the mall that white people USED to go to.
Oh no. I am wearing black shorts. How can they possibly tell us apart.
“Travis mentioned the ‘When the lights go out’ piece.
I recommend this for all FReepers.

I’ve had security guards describe that they were required to report, not intervene; for the low wages many receive, I’m not surprised.
IOW, don't blame the security guard, If a white person gets involved there would be claims of racism. Let nature take its course. There's no medals or thinks in whites stepping in to stop black crime.
Just about every one of these attacks are perpetrated by blacks, and they wonder why decent folks, black and white want no part of it. The GOP must run with law and order.
The knockout game is like anything else, if you want to get really good at it you HAVE to practice.
I never go to Pittsburgh....drove there once to an event ....never again!
As another option you could always pack yourself and family on an ark and sail off into the sunset while letting others do the heavy lifting for you.
Of course you would also need to depend on the goodness of those you left behind to *welcome* you back once the smoke clears.
“I can’t believe how foolishly people dress in the winter because they are tough and it’s not that cold out. “
I see it here in Colorado all the time. Shorts and flip flops when it 20 degrees. What if you car stops?
> I’ve had security guards describe that they were required to report, not intervene... <
Yep. A security guard has no more power or responsibility than an ordinary person in this regard. Their job is to observe, and report. Their job is not to keep the peace.
So I would not expect a security guard to do anything more (or less) than an ordinary person would.
It really depends on the job description; the guards of an armored car or bank are expected to be more proactive than those in malls.
I had a guard describe to me how he’d get fired if he intervened while guarding a parking lot; he was simply radio to the top guard at the site and observe.
“We are gearing up for Rwanda-level violence in our cities.”
Indeed we are. All these yuppie millennials moving into “cool” cities are our canaries in the coal mine. When these yuppies start falling in significant numbers, due to beatings and shootings, that’s our signal to man the barricades.
We also need to watch the Mexican communities. The BLM thugs in the inner cities can’t break out without first attacking the Mexicans who surround the ghettos.
We had a preview of that back in late May, 2020. Mayor Groot of Chicago ordered her racist thugs to attack Mexican neighborhoods and businesses in Cicero. The Mexicans armed up, set up barricades in the streets and chased Groot’s racist thugs back to their ghettos.
Here’s one sanitized report from the leftist media:

It’s okay because it was a black on black crime. Noting to see here. /sarcasm
Return of the “Knock Out Game” from pre-Pandemic times.
Same MO mostly. Attackers usually black. Victims usually (but not always) of another race. In this case, victim was black.
IMHO, this is not some form of assault. This is attempted manslaughter - reckless disregard craven heart.
The attacker may have not wanted the person to die but through their actions demonstrated a complete disregard for that foreseeable possibility (possibility of fatal head injury when the unconscious victim collapsed to the floor) and the obviously disgusting enjoyment they derived from the success of their criminal act (evidence of a craven heart).
Since the attacker snuck up from behind the victim and crouched down to add the spring power of his legs to the punch, there is a level of premeditation involved. This might even rise to some degree of attempted murder.
And if the victim dies …
Strong normalacy bias.
It won’t happen. It never happened before. It won’t now.
Problem is, the laws of physics don’t care how much ego one has. Hypothermia is hypothermia regardless of your attitude.
“The GOP must run with law and order.”
Yes we should support the forces of order like the FBI, CIA, IRS, etc.
