Shocking moment black Little League World Series player's hair is filled with COTTON by his teammates: Officials say prank was not racially motivated but many online sound off on coaches and parents for letting incident happen

This is the shocking moment a black Little League World Series player has cotton stuffed in his hair by his teammates.

The child, who has not been named, looks furious in the video from the Red Sox vs. Orioles Little League Classic game in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Sunday.

Other players had earlier been seen ripping out the stuffing from soft toys and placing them on to the boy's head.

Despite an uproar across social media, officials assured fans there was 'no ill-intent' behind the actions.

They said other players got the same treatment but the cameras happened to catch the black boy being targeted.

The Little League bosses have since acknowledged it 'could be perceived as racially insensitive.'

Officials spoke to the child's mother and his coaches and say they were assured 'there was no ill-intent behind the action shown during the broadcast.'

'After speaking with the team,' officials said, 'as well as reviewing photos, multiple players on the Midwest Region team were taking part in this while enjoying the game.'

'As only one player appeared on the broadcast, Little League International understands that the actions shown could be perceived as racially insensitive.'

Many on social media were outraged over what they had witnessed, particularly because the child at the center of it all was being roundly humiliated.

I find this troubling and concerning. Education, re-education, contemplation, indoctrination, elucidation and intervention are needed ASAP.

It all depends on the person on the receiving end.

If that person thinks it's ok, it's ok.

If the person doesn't, it isn't.

In this case it appears he doesn't.

Get a grip people. When was the last time any stuffed animal was filled with COTTON?!? They aren't. It's synthetic fibers. Secondly, think on how incredibly rare it is for kids this young to be aware of that connection (blacks and cotton).

This story is a bunch of woke a-holes making a big deal about nothing. They attach non-existent meaning and contrived intent to this situation to promote their own woke superiority.

Once again the left are nothing but bitter scolds with no humor whatsoever. This is just kids being kids, nothing of ill intent there, just some practical humor to relieve the tension.

Looks like persons of color doing the 'cottoning' of the player's hair.

Kinda looks like it was several dark skinned and some lighter skinned boys doing it to another dark skinned boy.

On some matters — such as racism — kids that age have no historical perspective. Like eight-year-olds drawing swastikas on their arms with Sharpies. They have no idea what it means, but other kids did it, so it’s “cool.”

And guys habitually “dig” on each other as a sign of (non-homosexual) affection. Presuming the coach had done a fair job of team-building (which, considering they’re in the World Series, is a reasonable presumption), it’s entirely possible they meant this as a show of admiration.

Not many people today even know what “stoop labor” or “high/tall cotton” means.
