You’d think they would find a different tactic.
It works so they keep doing it. Most of us know a “conservative” friend who is simply tired of the Trump hysteria. This is despite the fact that they (not Trump) create and recycle the hysteria.
There were many who openly said they could not vote for Trump because they wanted a return to “normalcy” (whatever that is).
The left fights. You have to admire them even as you detest their ideas. They fight on every front with every means possible and we follow the “rules”. Our current political environment is a street fight in a back alley but the republicrats are obsessed with manners, decorum, and some twisted idea of congenial bi-partisanship because they also take their cues from the same swamp media.
One day without The Hill would be pleasing.
True the federal government has become a bloated overmighty monstrosity - the very embodiment of Hobbes’ Leviathan as Robert E. Lee said it would become in his correspondence with Lord Acton after the WBTS.
I doubt we can turn it back to the constitutional system the Founding Fathers set up, but we can abolish some federal agencies like the department of education and the FIB for example. The rest we need to reduce in size AND ship them off to America and OUT of the District of Corruption.
For example, send the agriculture department to say, Evansville, Indiana. Send the Department of Energy to Odessa, Texas. Send the EPA to Riverton, Wyoming. etc.
The benefits are several.
1) you drain the DC Swamp of many of its denizens thus weakening it substantially.
2) can you just hear the shrieks of horror already from the kind of people who work in those agencies? “I didn’t go to Penn so I would have to live out in the middle of nowhere among......those people! I can see the pickup trucks and the Wal-Marts already. Why...they probably voted for Trump! I quit!” PERFECT! We get to get rid of a lot of the Leftist scum which fills those agencies currently without the government employee unions being able to do anything about it. We then re-fill those agencies with Americans thus totally changing their culture and politics.
3) with a lot of the bureaucrats they needed to court in order to line their clients’ pockets, a lot of the lobbyists also depart the DC Swamp. Even more winning!

Trump was more loyal to traditional conservatism than any since Reagan and was probably better.
