BENTONVILLE, Ark. (WSFA) - The ability to shop during overnight hours was a staple at many Walmart stores prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, while the pandemic has eased, America’s largest retailer’s decision against returning to 24-hour operations has not.
Walmart, along with a number of other chains, shifted their operating hours in early 2020 to perform enhanced cleaning and to allow associates time to restock shelves as the pandemic ramped up.
As some COVID-19 restrictions eased in mid-2021, Walmart adjusted its hours for U.S. stores to 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. local time.
Don’t expect to be able to fill your cart or run in for an emergency item at 2 a.m. any time soon, though.
“There are no plans at this time to return our Walmart stores to 24-hour per day operations,” said Charles Crowson, director of Walmart Press Office Corporate Communications. He did not further explain the decision.

There is a need.
But thanks to Deep State, need no longer figures in.
We’ll take what we are allowed. And LIKE IT.
Or else.
I just turned off the water and waited til Lowe’s opened.
“I’m sure the People of Walmart will just shop during the daytime.”
I’m not sure some of those people CAN come out in the daylight.
They’re just taking advantage of a golden opportunity (”COVID”) to “Reset” expectations. The World Economic Forum wants us peons to have less, eat less, own less. They want to kill off a few hundred million people, or more. They’re accomplishing their goals, even if it’s just getting rid of all-day breakfast, or 3A Wal-Mart shopping.
Exactly!
To serve you better ..they have also removed 80% of the trash cans..all of the outside benches..many of the inside benches..all electrical outlets..and they’ve increase the number of intrusive cameras..although I’m not sure why because they don’t have anyone arrested for stealing..and men can go into the women’s room.
Most of it is crap made in China anyhow.
To also,to serve you better.. they have doubled and tripled their GV brands.
Also,to serve you better.. they have doubled and tripled the PRICES OF their GV brands.

These are related—because if you cannot detain shop-lifters for police arrest then you have no choice but to try to make it as inconvenient as possible for them to “hang around” the store.
Each store is different so different tactics may have varying rates of success—but the perfect is always the enemy of the good.
Cameras are a deterrent for some people—because they can be used by LEO to track people with outstanding warrants (for example).
I get kind of get it.
Some of it is the bad apple syndrome.
Not sure anything can actually be done about it.
Unfortunately it is often the innocent people that are inconvenienced..or pay more.
Sounds like the perfect job for a student.
I worked for a company with a 24/7 toll-free number. Very few calls came in on the graveyard shift, but the company still needed one or two people to man the phone lines.
Changing his sleep pattern after 40 years must be very difficult now, unless he prefers that schedule?
Many people prefer 3rd shift because, after work, you have the whole morning and early afternoon to enjoy when stores, banks, restaurants, etc., are open.
Many people say 2nd shift (4PM-12AM) is the worst, and bosses told me they have trouble finding people willing to work that shift. The problem is, most people can't fall asleep right away after work. You have to wind down, so you're wide awake until 4AM. By the time you wake up at noon, you have a few hours to get things done before you have to go to work again.
It was nice for us up late at nite
I predicted this over a year ago. I was just telling my wife this past weekend that I doubt we will see 24 hour Wal-Marts returning.
My son and I got off our shift gone midnight the other night. I told him I miss the days when WM was 24/7.
Even before I went back to work in 2018, and started doing all sorts of crazy shifts, I was a night owl and would regularly go to WM at midnight or after.
Yes but the population was less than half what it is now.
Ahem...and that is the plan...
