In the murk of the #MeToo movement, Disney, the largest entertainment producer in the world, seemed to come out relatively unscathed.
In the years since, the company has fallen over itself to be more inclusive of diversity and women, taking its woke crusade so far that viewers are hard-pressed to find a new film or franchise that doesn't have a face-smacking social justice message.
But its squeaky-clean image was soiled this week with the admission by maverick heiress Abigail Disney that not only did the company know about Harvey Weinstein's prolific sexual abuse, it did nothing about it and may have even helped him pay off women who came forward.
'It was an open secret. I mean, it wasn't even a secret. Everyone knew what Harvey was about, and that was just fine as long as everybody saw it as, "well, this is just how business is done." 'Nobody had the moral clarity to step up and say, 'well, not here. we don't do it that way here,' Abigail, Walt Disney's black sheep great-niece, said.
Her comments to Rolling Stone were published on Wednesday alongside others by Kaja Sokola, a former model who says Weinstein assaulted her in 2002 when she was 16. She is suing Weinstein and Disney, alleging that the company failed to stop him from harming her. Disney has, so far, been silent on her claims.

I am inclined to give the cold shoulder to women who file suit twenty years after the fact, years after the sordid mess became public knowledge, and even after Harvey’s trial and conviction.
Cold shoulder, perhaps, but I would not deny her day in court.
There is a sliding scale on this...there are plenty of women who would have tolerated such behavior to make it in the business. Willing participant....unwilling participant but doesn’t want career ruined...unwilling participant who got the hell away from him..etc.

I was going to say, take anything reported in Rolling Stone with suspicion, isn’t that where that article claiming that folks were dying from horse invermectin or whatever started by a doctor that claimed to work for a health care system that he didn’t work for and called the whole thing fake not all that long ago? Going so far as to post on their main web site page a notice that the person did not work for them and they had no reports of people being treated for using horse medicine on themselves.
If everyone doesn’t know this deep dark secret about Hollywood, I’ll give you a two word clue. CASTING COUCH. Yep, all those actresses in H’wood had to do an enterview on the casting couch (yeah I know, but it’s misspelled for a reason). All those little girls AND boys had to do an enterview on the casting couch (Corey Feldman). This has been known since the 50’s, and probably even earlier. Hollywood is just a branch of the pedophelia business that flourishes in America. The main supporter is, wait for it, the ABC agencies. Remember J. Edgar Hoover? These people make tons of $$$$$$ from their peverted lives. The government supports them, and even encourages them. The only shining light on a hill in America is a red light!
Rolling Stone sucks also, but Abigail is a complete liberal snowflake nutjob. If she said we lived on earth, I would have my doubts.
I have always been amazed at how fast that company decayed once Walt died.
