Actress Anne Heche died today at age 53 years after being disconnected from life support one week after being in a serious automobile accident that left her in a coma.
Her family made this difficult decision following a brain-death diagnosis.
It was said that Heche decided how to dispose of her organs since she was a donor.
Her closest relatives thanked her fans who had sent the actress messages of support during the past few days and especially praised the work done by "the staff and the wonderful nurses" who cared for her at the hospital.
Anne Heche was seen in early August driving recklessly on the streets of Los Angeles. Minutes earlier, she had hit another vehicle and, later, a garage she fled from while a neighbor yelled at her.

If what I read on Wikipedia is true, this poor child never had a chance. Being raped by her barely closet father who died of aids, given genital warts and the deep denial of her deeply religious mom doesn’t make for a stable mentality

None of us know if she intended to kill herself or if it was an accident, regardless, maybe it will bring some much needed attention to the fentanyl issue and it's source.

Agree completely. There is nothing “humane” about killing people. The diagnosis is that she was brain dead which means she was dead.
Just a guess that the liver was not one of her organs viable for transplantation ....

If she was smoked up on coke and fen why would anyone want organs from a carcass like that? I’m not quite believing either half of the story. Now they say brain damage but before they said smoke inhalation. One could lead to the other, I guess, but it would be refreshing to hear an accurate account of the circumstance——could actually help someone else.

Her lungs were so damaged by inhaling hot toxic smoke that they no longer passed oxygen into the bloodstream, and the lack of oxygen caused brain damage.
