Are we living in a banana republic? The vast majority of Americans believe so, and if they didn’t before the FBI raid on Donald Trump’s home, then they likely do now. The partisanship and lopsided control of our two-tiered justice system is rapidly deconstructing any trust there once was in the way our government operates.
Fox News host Will Cain, sitting in for Tucker Carlson, gave one of the most important opening monologues I’ve ever heard. He cut to the core of what the raid on Trump’s home really tells us about our Justice Department. More importantly, he told us why we should have no faith in the FBI after they ignored the unambiguous crimes of people like Hunter Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Eric Swalwell while they try to manufacture crimes committed by a former President of the United States.

We are now a Fascist nation. We are closely following the progress of Germany in the early 1930’s. Corporations and Government are running everything. That’s not a Republic.
We are far more dangerous to ourselves and the world as a Fascist Nation.
Yes, because the left is inherently corrupt so when they get power they use that power to protect their own, while the right tries to avoid that, even refraining from doing stuff like pardoning other people on the right that they know are innocent to keep from seeming partisan (remember Scooter Libby?).
Of course there are corrupt people on the right, but that’s an individual problem, it’s not inherent to their ideology.
Yes there’s no doubt we are living in a banana republic. But it’s going to get worse.
Most banana republics arrest and throw in jail their former leader. Either that or the ex Presidente flees the country and lives in exile.
I do not see Donald Trump turning coward and fleeing the country. As a result, it’s just a matter of time before he is arrested, tried and convicted.

When Caesar and his legions crossed the Rubicon into Italy, that ended the Roman republic, it was a point of no return.
Similarly, Biden's actions have crossed a point of no return for our Republic. For years, conservatives have fought the good fight, ostensibly under Marquess of Queensbury rules, i.e. under the principles set out in the Constitution.
No more...anyone who voted for Biden is now my enemy, to be treated as such. That includes a fair number of my in-laws who voted for him. For the past 18 months, my wife has admonished me to not bring up politics, and up until now, I've acquiesced to her wishes. No more, I'll just stay home with the dog. I'm sure we'll both be happy, as you aren't drinking alone when the dog is with you.

I was very impressed by Will and feel that he deserves his own evening program. He should replace Jesse at 7 pm.
The clip he played of Anton Scalia was excellent, a warning about the concentration of power like we have now, a centralized govt, and when that happens the Bill of Rights is just words on paper.
