This is the moment six Russian commanders were killed in a Ukrainian ambush, according to one of Kyiv's senior officers.
Dramatic footage captured how a two-vehicle convoy - said to be carrying the Russian top brass back from a meeting - were struck by anti-tank missiles.
Footage, thought to have been captured on the Donbas frontline near Avdiivka, shows how the lead vehicle was blown to smithereens before the second rolled over.
-snip-
It comes after Lieutenant Colonel Olga 'Kursa' Kachura, 52, who was Ukrainian-born but fought for Russian-backed separatists in Ukraine's east, was reported killed.
Kachura, who commanded an artillery battalion, was said to have died after a missile struck her car as she drove near Horlivka, not far from Avdiivka.
It is not currently clear whether the missile strike captured on video and the strike that killed Kachura are one-and-the-same.
She is Russia's first female frontline officer to be killed in fighting, having dubbed herself 'she-wolf' and boasted on state TV about how she enjoyed killing Ukrainians.
Kyiv's military intelligence service says Kachura joined the ranks of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic in 2014 when Putin last invaded the country, and was responsible for shelling civilians in the Donbas during that war.
Kachura helped found the local militia, and had led hundreds of men into combat.
She had gained near-mythic status among Russia's rank-and-file after appearing in Kremlin propaganda in which she revelled in the bloodshed.
'I enjoy killing Ukrainians every time,' she said in one clip, while giving herself the moniker 'she-wolf' in another.

Too bad your Russian/Nazi propaganda version is so lousy.
And the hits keep on coming.... Ersatz Tsar Putin couldn’t care less about the Russians, Chechens, Buryats, Dagestanis, etc. he feeds into the Ukrainian meat grinder.
But I've never seen a story about any Ukranians being killed. And there would have been one if any had.
Looks like she is wearing Artillery insignia and unit patches. That is just not the safe career field that it used to be for Russian officers.
Both factions do it.
I was on a gunboat in Nam at Danang. While we did have firefights sometimes most of it was boring nightime patrolling.
I’d see the Marines in the field in their worn and tattered ODs and worn gear. Then I’d patrol upriver past the 3rd Marine Amphib Force headquarters and see the personnel there in their fancy new Camos and new M16s. Those are my ideas of REMFs. Or the O-3 on the radio screaming “Get closer!” from 10 miles away.
Keyboard warriors screaming “Kill (insert subject here)” are even lower on the scale.
As has been observed: the further from the front, the more enthusiasm for combat.
“As has been observed: the further from the front, the more enthusiasm for combat.”
I agree that those who have not seen the elephant, are the ones most eager to do so.
But, really, isn’t that more a condition of youth and naivete? Youth thinks it is immortal; always has. But, once it sees some carnage and mangled bodies it generally develops a different mindset. Unless it is just plain stupid.
She looks pretty rough and used up in those photos.
One would hope that people would grow out of it. But apparently too many don’t.
“One would hope that people would grow out of it. But apparently too many don’t.”
Well, that has always been the case. Such people are generally the quickest to run from a fight. And those here on FR who applaud the carnage and cheer for more fit that category to a T.
I am pulling for Ukraine simply because it was invaded by a larger and stronger country that had no acceptable reason to do so. Ukraine is corrupt; but so is Russia; so is China; so is the United States. Corruption is to power as acne is to a fifteen-year-old: It’s unfortunately common, and not abnormal.
This war could have ended at any time if Russia had just stopped and gone back home. It is Russia who is prosecuting this war; Ukraine is simply defending itself.
I’ve said this countless times here on FR: I support sending Ukraine weapons and materiel so it can defend itself. I do NOT support American troops on the ground or American helmets in the air above Ukraine.
Daily Mail propaganda is always good for a laugh!
Does your band of namecalling trolls coordinate posting propaganda everytime Z and the Ukes start losing badly on the ground? ?? .....................
It’s another bad day for Z:
In the Izyum area, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed clashes in Gusarovka. According to reports from the front line, Russian units may take control of the village in the coming days.
Russian-led forces claimed new victories near the city of Bakhmut. The offensive is being carried out from various directions. On August 3, the DPR People’s Militia confirmed control of the villages of Semigorye and Travnevoe located to the south-east of the city. Advancing from Svetlodarsk, Russian and DPR units reached the town of Kodema.
On the south-eastern outskirts of Bakhmut, Russian-led forces are advancing from Klinove. Clashes continue in Vaselaya Dolina while Zaitsevo remains under control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On August 4, Russian assault groups entered the city of Bakhmut from the eastern direction. Units from the Wagner group are operating in the area. The Ukrainian defense collapsed under heavy fire from Russian artillery. Ukrainian forces also suffered heavy losses after a failed attempt to counterattack Russian positions in the town of Pokrovskoe located on the eastern outskirts of the city.
The fighting is ongoing on Patrice Lumumba Street. Russian forces are yet to take a foothold as Ukrainian forces are shelling the positions that they left.
Fighting reached the industrial zone of the city of Soledar. Russian-led units, including the 6th Cossack regiment of the LPR People’s Militia and Wagner assault groups, broke through Ukrainian defenses advancing from Bakhmutskoe. Fierce clashes continue near the Knauf plant. Heavy artillery duels prevent either of the warring sides from establishing military positions.
n the Donetsk region, Russian and DPR units took control of the town of Peski. The mop up operation let them advance towards the western outskirts of the town and come closer to Pervomaiskoe. Advancing units are expected to develop their offensive towards Vodianoe to surround Ukrainian forces in Avdeevka from the south-western direction.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of Ukraine confirmed the growing threat for its grouping in Avdeevka amid the Russian advance to the south of the town.

A lot of words to say “no meaningful Russian wins in 2 months”. LOL!
I would want to use our vast sea power to hinder China and protect our trade empire. Let NATO help the Ukraine. Those NATO deadbeats have been relying on the USA too long. They can afford it. Let them.
Tell that to the recently liberated residents of Lisichansk and Severodonetsk! Try being honest for a change, you might enjoy it and you’d feel better about yourself.
Three stars over two stripes, or three large stars on a subdued patch, is a full Colonel.
Ask Kadyrov if Severodonetsk was a “win”. LOL!
“I would want to use our vast sea power to hinder China and protect our trade empire. Let NATO help the Ukraine. Those NATO deadbeats have been relying on the USA too long. They can afford it. Let them.”
I would like to see China contained, and our sea power, and those of our allies in the region, could contribute to that.
As for Ukraine, it can’t be approached on a per-unit matching basis: It’s neither feasible nor fair.
Take Poland, for example. Poland has probably done more for Ukraine than the US. Not in terms of money spent, or the number of weapons systems sent, as Poland is nowhere near as large or powerful or wealthy as the United States. But it has taken in some 4 million refugees, fed them, housed them, provided them with medical care; it has sent Ukraine a great deal of armament and materiel; it is positioning assets from other NATO members on its own soil; it is training Ukrainian specialists; it is the main transit point for the vast majority of materiel into Ukraine.
Contrast Poland with Germany, unquestionably the richest country in Europe. Yet, what it has done in support of Ukraine is paltry.
Trump would have got Germany to pull its weight, or known the reason why.
Boy are you misnamed... 🤮
Poland did nothing for Ukraine except capitalizing on its collapse since 2014.
They use them for menial labor and prostitution to replace people who left Poland for greener pasture, and they lure in businesses leaving Ukraine for good.
True to form, you are also anti-Pole. I bet you’re a hoot in your little confabs swapping Polish jokes among your comrades.
