“That and teams jumping to conferences that make no geographic logic.”

Agreed.

I hate to see what has become of my Big 10.

First, they admit Maryland and Rutgers - two teams that have no business being in the Big 10. And THEN they admit USC and UCLA.

Absolutely ridiculous!

The NCAA also ruining college ball by now allowing multiple transfers (vs just one in the past). Players who get a better NIL deal, or a promise of starting, or more playing time can just pick up and leave for a new team.

Lots of teams depend on finding ‘under the radar’ players who don’t sign with the bigger teams. Now if a player has a big season at one school, he will be gone to a bigger school with an NIL deal. And if he has another good season, he’s gone to yet another big school for an even better NIL deal.

And USC and UCLA are traitors to the PAC-12. I hope they never win another game and go broke doing so.

You’re going to start seeing schools dropping football as they won’t be able to keep up with the big boys. Football is an expensive program to run, and it just won’t be worth it, because there will be no enthusiasm for the lesser teams.

That Chris Rock video will certainly keep a lot of young ones out of unnecessary trouble with the police.

They should show this in all the schools. Maybe substitute it with the one they show on the two lesbian mommies as it's far more useful.

For those who may not know:

NIL stands for β€œname, image, and likeness.” This is a way for a college athlete to earn compensation for using their name, image, or likeness. College athletes have been fighting for decades to have the ability to profit from their NIL as they witness how much the NCAA and schools make. Now thanks to state laws, a supreme court ruling, and NCAA making it legal, players can make a profit from anything that uses their name, image, or likeness.

So, how much does he get for his mugshots?

Name, Image & Likeness is a four-step process to help student-athletes manage their brands like a pro.

Appears to be working.

Yep. No reason to watch minor league pro football on Saturday when you can watch the real deal on Sunday if you wish.

College football is pro football for states and regions and they don’t tend to run three yard passes on third and ten like the NFL.

That was witty of the officer at the jail, putting a dead giant tarantula on the dude’s head before taking the mugshot.

Well thank you very much, so what about LIV Golf?

My pet peeve is writers too lazy to define abbr (abbreviation ) in any doc - 1st use only. Too many re-tread abbr short on context is bad enough.

I posted that yesterday, but here it is again:

LIV Golf is a professional golf tour financed by the Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia. The name LIV is a reference to the Roman numeral for 54, the score if every hole on a par-72 course were birdied and the number of holes to be played at LIV events (3 * 18). It was founded in 2021. πŸ™‚

Thanks for hat, I did try to research on my own. Almost a complete waste of time. Some tidbits:

Still no one has defined LIV afaik,

There’s also LIV Cycling except the website was only interested in telling me a little about it but mainly trying to sell bikes & equip.

My educated guess is that LIV is somehow L (love of or live the sport maybe?) Interactive (get more remote fans involved) and Virtual reality (guessing you could play with ir compete against the Pro Teams turning home VR game into a live event).

For all I know the LIV could stand for the person or people who started the website. No clue if it means anything at all, or it if does, what it may mean. πŸ™‚

A local kid will be playing for Cincinnati this year. JoJo Bermudez, He was well raised and his dad was his early coach. Hoping that he can handle the responsibility that comes with his new freedom.

One assumes that some events preceded this.

Indeed.

I personally attempt to avoid the police as much as I can.

Since I am a generally quiet and law abiding citizen they have yet to attempt to arrest me for it.
