Airplanes without functioning engines make perfectly good, if not efficient, gliders. Most single engine aircraft have glide ratios around 10:1. Some are a little better. That means that for every 1000 ft of altitude, you can glide almost 2 miles.

In pilot training, you practice engine out procedures. The first thing you do is pitch the aircraft to best glide speed. If you were previously flying level at cruise speed, pitching for best glide speed allows you to convert excess speed into altitude which further increases time and distance you can glide.

And yes, unfortunately, sometimes perfectly maintained aircraft engines suddenly quit producing power. Usually this is a result of running out of fuel or forgetting to switch tanks.

“Dropping like a rock” is ignorant hyperbole.

Read “A Higher Call.” The author was former Luftwaffe and talks about how early versions of their jet bombers would just crash into the ground until they learned to wiggle the rudder. The elevator just didn’t respond due to airspeed.

Yes, it’s a glider at that point. The trick is to find a landing spot for an emergency landing. You get one shot at that. A cessna has a lift / drag ratio of around 7:1. That means for every 7 feet of forward travel, you loose 1 foot of altitude.

I also suspect the same for some car accidents where public figures are killed, or at least injured.

That sort of problem would be due to the slipstream going around the control surfaces because of the change in flow patterns at higher speeds. Jets need to be designed differently with respect to placement and sizes of control surfaces.

The Germans had no jet bombers in WWII. They had a few fighter aircraft, the most notable being the Me-262.

Pretty sure it was the 262 they were discussing in the book. They did use the early Messers as dive bombers, maybe just not their only purpose.

That is what Hitler wanted to use them for even though they were specifically designed to be fighters. Hitler was obsessed with bombing England. The Me-262 was ready to fly in 1938, if you image that! The snag was that the jet engines couldn't be made to work reliably until 1942. It entered service in 1944, way too late to have an affect.

It was a wonderful airplane. It was easy to fly; but, as you pointed out, it did get unresponsive in dives.

The P-51 Mustang would also lose control in a power dive. Supersonic flight had new lessons to teach everybody.

Airplane engines are meticulously maintained and thoroughly checked, and there was no reason why the engine suddenly went dead.

There is no reason ... until you figure out the reason.

If you would listen to what you mocked, you would not have to ask these stupid questions. But you refuse to do so, and therefore you do ask these stupid questions. The only reason I see for you ding so, is because you fear being called a conspiracy kook. What you should really be concerned about is what the WEF (World Economic Forum) keeps saying aloud.

But then. I have known many know-it-all people like yourself all of my life. They all walk around in life as if they have all the answers, and anyone who disputes them is a raving lunatic idiot. They all know that all these things being exposed, are in reality lies, and that these people sounding these alarms are nothing more than charlatans trying to fleece people.

I actually find you people amusing, because you can believe that, even though there is no proof of that, other than mouthpieces telling you that, that is the reality.

At the same time, you all notice that the world is quite different than it ever has been, but you chalk it all up to; just affects of the pandemic. It will never return to normal, and I even think many of you see that, but then quickly dismiss that as you fearing you are succumbing to the crazy conspiracy theories. That fear of seeing that the reality, is the conspiracy, is even greater than the fear of being called names, though being called names grips the fears of you people presently. You see fear no matter which way you turn.

You may believe that I am in fear, but I am not. For with the Lord I have nothing to fear but fear itself, and I do not fear, fear either.

As more & more doctors find their courage to speak out against the medical establishment, more & more evidence becomes available. However, all of you educated know-nothings who believe they know-it-all, reject it. Strangely enough because the MSM, that has been hiding the truth for decades on a host of issues, is not reporting it.

Like I said. the days are numbered where you naysayers will be able to deny what the people you currently believe to be nothing more than charlatans, were the ones you should have been listening to all along. That the WEF was saying out loud their plans, that you believed were too fantastic to believe as ever happening so why even pay it much attention either.

Now they may not win, but be assured they are trying to carry out their plans. In the end, I actually believe they lose, but in the meantime, they will cause enormous death & destruction in the wake of their endeavors. Because they believe themselves to be gods amongst men, they feel justified in what they are doing, and could care less of the consequences of their actions.

Like most such articles, they don’t tell what what the airplane was. I’ve had a license, single and multi engine, for well over fifty year and can assure you that unless the pilot did something very foolish, the plane didn’t “drop like a rock” unless the pilot was trying to stretch the glide and stalled. My brother had an engine quit on takeoff, the worst time, but managed to land in a cow pasture.

Robert I’m not mocking. Those are actual topics that were pushed here.

For 51 years the WEF has had their meetings. More than half a century.
If in 51 years they haven’t been able to meet their goal of a World take over, perhaps they’re unable?

Klaus Schwab is 84 years old. I’m sure he’s not the same man he was 51 years ago. Soros is in his 80s too.

I remember the same conspiracy that the Rockefellers were going to take over the World. So what happen? They died. Even after key Rockefellers died it took years for the conspiracies to run out of steam. (No internet then so that might be why it took so long)

2 common methods to mislead masses are Religion (Islam, Crusades for examples), and/or an Enemy. A common enemy or an enemy made, formed, a designer enemy that will harm you or your family.

Interesting that a prominent Rothschild, the family leader, has recently died and now the big bad enemy is the WEF.

The WEF does a lot of talking. They don’t have an army.

If the WEF is power hungry, we have 100 Senators here that are 10 times more power hungry.
We have 435 Congress members that can and have removed our rights and taxed us for anything including for dying.

WEF didn’t ban “Assault Weapons”. Congress did that.

Rothschilds never sent the ATF to Waco Texas and burned out women and children of an odd religious sect.
The DOJ did that.

So while you’re here warning us about the WEF and getting miffed by my lack of concern, right here, in this country we are under attack by an Administration that destroyed our energy sector, our economy, our supply chain and our personal safety.
