CHICAGO -- A 13-year-old boy was shot Friday after he and at least three others tried to break into a parked vehicle in Hyde Park on the South Side, police said.
About 8 p.m., the boy was among "four to five" men who were trying to breach a parked car in the 1100 block of East 52nd Street when the vehicle's owner, a 34-year-old woman, confronted the group, Chicago police said.
One of the men brandished a handgun, but the woman, who possesses a valid concealed carry license, fired her gun and struck the 13-year-old in the neck, police said.
The boy was transported to Comer Children's Hospital in fair condition, police said.
The other men fled the scene.

The author of this article seems to know the meanings of the words “boy,” “woman,” and “men.” Many others don’t.
It makes sure we know that the one who was shot was a “boy,” aged 13, so we will have sympathy for him. I don’t.
Since there were at least 5 of them breaking into her car, she had the absolute right to shoot them all, and to kill them. Or to drive away even if they were in front of the car.
The left wants to take this right away from us, and to make us bow down in submission to a group that has been chosen as our heirs.

If the world was right. somebody steal your car should be shot first....ie don’t steal people’ stuff.
One of them pointed a gun at her, but, still, it is Illinois.
A car costs on average $46,000. The median wage before taxes for 25-34 yo is $60,000. After taking out taxes and living expenses these cockroaches in human form were stealing about 5 years of her life. Shooting all of them would have been best, but shooting one of them was better than none.
Bedwetters say “Things aren’t worth a human life.” But things COST portions of the victims’ lives. A career criminal may well steal several lifetimes over the course of their careers. Point two what constitutes the difference between an animal and a human? Humans have consciences and don’t prey on their fellow man. Animals satisfy their wants without regard to others - so they may have human form, but they’re only animals.

Unfortunately that gives the prosecutor a lot of freedom to abuse your right to self defense. Remember why we have courts and judges. It is because o n almost any subject people disagree. Two lawyers will read a contract and each will swear that it means opposites. And they read the law with the same attitude. It is their means of self defense, for if every one read the law and reached the same conclusion, there would be no need for lawyers....they would starve.
I would not say “do” or “don’t”. But I do say be aware that you could be putting your neck in the noose.
The woman really made a bad mistake for other reasons. Suppose the bad guys were MS-13, all armed. She would be dead. She is a terrible shot. She shot at the guy with a gun and hit the kid. How long would she have lasted against a real hard nosed criminal? About two seconds.
Smart people pull a gun only when there is only one way to stay alive. And smart people practice and avoid situations where they might need to shoot.
The best tactic for self defense is to avoid situations where you might need self defense.
