“EV EPA numbers are cooked...”
I have a new EV riding mower that is supposed to give you two hours of mowing. Barely makes one hour.
Move to the city. That’s the goal here. Our elites want Americans living at a much, much lower standard of living. You and I are destroying the planet. A small number of elites can live extravagantly of course, but the hoi polloi must be relegated to the cities, forced to live in tiny apartments, and limited to mass transit. It’s the only way to preserve the planet for the rich and powerful.
We are talking about coal-powered cars for one reason only: Government doesn't want you to be free to travel.
How EVs perform in real world conditions for the long term has not been seriously tested. If this Mazda EV barely makes 70 miles under near ideal conditions how will it perform when the temperatures are well below freezing and lights, wipers, heater and defroster are needed? How about a high humidity 90+ degree day when AC would be almost a necessity? What about the long term… how well will these EVs perform at say 60,000 miles? Will they still hold enough charge for any serious driving? We are already hearing anecdotal reports about the high cost of replacing battery packs in EVs…costs that can exceed to value of the vehicle. What would be the value of a high mileage Tesla as a used car? Given the battery replacement costs EVs could basically be disposable..you don’t replace the battery and keep the car, you junk the car and buy a new one….hardly any boon to the environment.
The ChiComs have the right idea.
Move the masses to electric cars fueled by coal fueled generating plants and save the petroleum for military.
You want a cute and inexpensive EV. Go buy a Hyundai Kona EV.>>>>>>>

(I would buy one if I had $40,000 lying around)
WRONG.
Buyers will not be permitted to decide. Big Nanny Government will decide for you. You'll use what Big Nanny Government tells you to use, and you'll LIKE IT.
Siddown an' shaddap, prole!!!
Don’t forget the Monza!
True, this is a niche car but it’s too expensive for what it is.🙄
Congratulations on saving the erf and thanks for testing that out. I wonder why more people don’t provide such warnings in reviews?
I mow about 4 acres.
Thanks for the link to the video. Yep. That’s exactly what the rich and powerful want for us.
You think that's the "RIGHT" idea??? Seriously???
Tell me you're being sarcastic.
I observe and post a finding. I do not endorse EV’s.
I do however have the greatest respect for Elon Musk and his three Giga plants capable of pouring out millions of Tesla vehicles per year. His pickups are already presold by thousands before actual production has started. Elon Musk ranks with the very greatest American industrialists.
First. EV’s and Teslas will not eliminate internal combustion engines in America. Elsewhere is a different story especially for automobiles.
All the objections raised here are historical and not applicable to current Tesla production. The EV disruption is already a fact in China and in Norway. Both are different than here. With the maturation of the Tesla Giga plant in Germany, and the announced $9k lowering of price, there will be large Tesla sales gains in Europe. BMW and VW are actually threatened
Tesla is not the sales leader in China but is near that threshold with a Chinese manufacturer currently in the lead. The influence of very large scale population lockdowns is difficult to evaluate. From China, Tesla has a tremendously large Asian and Pacific rim market. Far greater than the USA
So, with GM and Ford continuously losing market share and unable to compete, these Deeetroit/UAW giants are in for a lot of existential trouble.
My point is that the existing competition is not capable of turning the rising Tesla tide
Actually for me, that setup would be perfect.
I drive 10 mile trips 95% of the time, with a 2000 mile vacation drive several times per year.
Unfortunately the Toyota Rav4 Prime that I like is bringing HUGE premiums over sticker price.
That will be $15,000 for a new battery

The car of the future. 😆
It’s the right idea for what the ChiComs are trying to achieve.
As a smart guy on CNBC once said, “China has central planning by scientists, mathematicians, and engineers, and the US has central planning by lawyers. Neither is good, but by definition they win in the long run”
Yes. If I could get one for $5,000, I would be considering it.
LOL in the age of Inflation Joe, you can’t buy a new golf cart for that price.
