Visited there last month during my trip to Washington DC. And, needless to say, a very humbling experience and it would never occur to me to utter a peep or come anywhere near where it would be disrespectful to do so.
I saw the Changing of the Guard in 2018. It was what most impressed me during my visit to the district of corruption.
These men have always amazed me. It takes almost unimaginable self-discipline and commitment.
I wonder if they’ve ever had to use lethal force?

The personal sacrifice each go through is remarkable. They are due the respect they earn and then some.
A bunch of us went with our reserve base commander to a national conference in DC when I was in the USNSCC. It’s a very solemn affair and you show these soldiers the utmost respect. Especially when you’re wearing a uniform.
I wonder what would happen to Wokers if they tried to disrupt them.
Having seen the Changing of the Guard a few times and having been present at my uncle’s and father in law’s funerals what actually awes me is the simple nobility and lack of pretense of American military funerals.

Was the only thing my recently departed father (Korean Vet) wanted to see when we went to DC. Probably have seen it 3-4 times. Very moving.
Yes. They were at my father’s funeral, and they were very impressive and respectful. I startled a little at the sound of the guns; but when the gentleman gave the flag to my grandmother, I was in tears.
Hopefully a filmed beat down that we could all watch, and laugh at.
