Kamala Harris compared on Monday the overturn of Roe v. Wade last month to slavery during a speech to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) convention.
'We know, NAACP, that our country has a history of claiming ownership over human bodies,' the first minority and female vice president said to massive jeers of agreement from the crowd in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
She added: 'Today, extremists so-called leaders are criminalizing doctors and punishing women from making healthcare decisions for themselves.'
Harris said that the decision to get an abortion should be between women and 'her doctor, her pastor, her priest, her Rabbi, her loved ones. Not her government telling her what to do.'
She traveled to New Jersey on Monday to deliver remarks at the 113th NAACP National Convention at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
During her remarks she detailed to the crowd using large arm movement the definition and purpose of a Venn diagram.
The vice president said that she instructed her team to create a Venn diagram to depict the areas that have restricted voting rights as well as abortions, suggesting that the overlap shows mostly in Republican states.
'I asked my team, I said, 'You know, do a Venn diagram on two subjects for me, in particular,' she said of a conversation with her staff.
Harris said that she asked for the overlap of states that are 'attacking the freedom to vote and attacking women's freedoms over their own body.'
'There are 10 states that are doing both,' she said.

“Do a Venn diagram . . .”
= = =
A Venn diagram is a widely used diagram style that shows the logical relation between sets, popularized by John Venn in the 1880s.
Well, I see just a few problems here: John Venn, a MALE,
John Venn Quick Info Born 4 August 1834 Hull, England Died 4 April 1923 Cambridge, England Summary John Venn was an English mathematician and logician best known for the Venn diagrams which can be used to visualise the unions and intersections of sets.
His Father was a Reverend. He championed ‘logic’, ...!
Maybe Kamal got off on ‘visualising the unions’???
I’m thinking there was some shenanigans involved...

Is this Irish cultural appropriation?
Why would one even mention a Venn diagram?? Let’s be real...none of this are her words.
“Why isn’t this working? For some reason none of the state lines are overlapping!”
“Hey, underlings! Venn diagrams are what smart people do, right? Make me a bunch of Venn diagrams and then I’ll be smart!”
What did Willie Brown ever see in this loon?
There isn’t enough booze in California to get me drunk enough to want to go with 100 miles of this communist.
“Harris said that the decision to get an abortion should be between women and her doctor, her pastor, her priest, her Rabbi, her loved ones. Not her government telling her what to do.”
I completely agree with this statement. And that is exactly where we are at this moment. The dropping of Roe has nothing to do with the morality conceptions of abortion. All it did was get the decisions back into the states’ control and out of the hands of the federal government. Abortion is still legal wherever it is determined that. And that decision is now within the hands of the people. People can still get one as long as it is within the standards of the state.
Our history is filled with situations where morals or business has caused people to move from a city because they didn’t agree with the determination of the people. And for both sides of those equations, it is considered the backbone of the freedoms we in this country celebrate. If you don’t like the determination in your area, try to get it changed through voting or pressuring the local legislature what ever the case. But the decision for that should be in the hands of the people, not a government bureaucrat from thousands of miles away from you that means nothing to you on topics like this. The other options is to move where you agree with the new area.
As for her Venn diagram, a Venn diagram is an illustration that uses circles to show the relationships among things or finite groups of things. Circles that overlap have a commonality while circles that do not overlap do not share those traits.
If that’s the case then this Venn cannot overlap as it is an image of morality perceived by individuals and she is after a huge group exposition. They will not overlap in any case other than being determined by people that are not involved with each case as it comes up. And there is no one size fits all for murder no matter who it protects. And that’s what Roe created was the choice of who to be protected.
That should be an easy chart. There are no states restricting the right to vote.
Yep!
Can hardly wait to see the results that a gaggle of communist low-IQ morons will produce...
The work will contain only niggardly amounts of intelligence and facts...
She is correct.
The unborn baby is the slave.
The mother is the slave master.
The abortionist is the overseer of the slaves.
At one time in this country, slaves were considered the property of the owner and they were not given any human rights.
It took war and loss of American lives but this nation recognized that a slave is not property and that they have the same human rights as any other human being.
One day, we will see that the unborn is not property and that it deserves the same human rights as any other human being.
I haven’t heard the term ‘Venn Diagram’ since I was in HS 50+ years ago!......................
It is probably the only math that liberal politicians can grasp. Barely.
