Well, they do, but they are all just pieces of the puzzle - like all of us. We're all very important, but none of us make the world turn. I'm a huge proponent of and believer in the sanctity of individuals. Individuals push the world forward, and the uniqueness of individuals is what propels us - not groupthink.
That said, we all have to have the humility to know that as individuals none of us are even remotely capable of defining the whole of what humanity can be. Take care of those who depend on you, and make the biggest contribution you can as an individual. No one else can do what you can do.

Think about this: The founder of this band, the only one with a shred of talent, went completely insane from having to spend time with this jerk. And his quality of life improved vastly.
Waters has always been a self-absorbed a-hole. Floyd was always more about the music than about Waters’ preachy lyrics.
I think Syd spent too much time with LSD.
