Rep. Ilhan Omar renewed criticism against the Supreme Court for its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade last month, denouncing the court and anti-abortion Republicans as “extremists.”
Omar’s criticism comes in response to the House passing legislation that would codify abortion rights and protect reproductive rights after the court reversed the 1973 decision that legalized abortion nationwide. The bill, however, is likely doomed in the 50-50 Senate.
“Grateful to everyone who is helping us fight against extremists who want to control every aspect of our lives,” Omar said in a tweet. “Freedom is a cornerstone of our country and we won’t go back.”
The House on Friday passed the Women’s Health Protection Act, a sweeping abortion rights bill that had already been passed by the chamber this Congress. The legislation had previously been taken up by Congress, but lawmakers renewed their efforts to consider the bill after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June.
Proponents of the bill say it codifies the standards previously set by Roe into law, but opponents say it would go beyond by undoing state-level restrictions that had previously been upheld by the courts.

Who? is she important?
Omar doesn’t care about abortion, she just knows it is an issue that divides the country, and that is her whole purpose.
Seriously. The brother lover needs to ask her muzzie brethren how they feel about murdering infants in the womb.
Jesus would be considered an “extremist”.
Self-immolation is a memorable way to protest. Give it a try.
I don’t think abortion is legal in Somalia, except to save the life of the mother (or ‘birthing person’, for those who don’t understand plain English.)
Omar was born on October 4, 1982, in Mogadishu, Somalia. Since 1991 Somalia has experienced a debilitating war that ruined the economy and obliterated the banking system. Today Somalia has a reputation for chilling images of deadly atrocities by Al-Shabaab militants, suicide bombers and pirates. Our Constitution, as interpreted by our Judicial system, has ensured our nation has not dissolved into the chaos of Somalia.
A muslim calling someone else an extremist?
That’s rich……
So is murder.
Muslims would, of course, object to not having the freedom to murder anyone with impunity.
On the count of three, let’s all wring our hands and fall on the fainting couch because some psychotic leftist is throwing a fit.
