Seward native Jesse Rood broke the axe throwing world record on Friday at the opening ceremonies of the 2022 Cornhusker State Games with a throw of 90 ft.
The previous record was 75 ft. and Rood smashed that with his throw of 90 ft. at Seacrest Field. After breaking the record, Rood attempted to shatter the record he just broke by landing a throw of 120 ft.
Rood did not get one of the axes to stick from 120 ft. out, but he did come close.
Close doesn’t count in axe throwing? I’m thinkin’ it does.
I’m actually looking for a good throwing axe.
This guy has a promising future as a stunt double in slasher movies.
Wow large crowd.
I did some axe throwing when I was younger.
Good way to break handles not much use for the skill.
Time was much better spent learning better firearm handling skills.
Looks to me to be a spectacular crowd for a Biden appearance.
That bit with Ed Ames got one of the longest laughs in Tonight Show history. Thanks for posting it!
Is there a video clip?
That's way too easy. A warrior learns more ground game in a week with a battleaxe than he does in a year with an M4 carbine.
BS.
There is a very good reasons.
Hand held edge weapons have mostly gone away.
Except in the minds trying to live in the past.
I have done a lot of training with them over the past decades just because I could.
I good firearm is far superior to any of them.
Seward? Alaska? The 101 site is blocked for me.
Btt
There is a Seward Nebraska-—I knew someone from there in the 90’s.
It’s perfect that his name is Rood since that means tree.
How about some pistol throwing?
Nope just reload.
