' A cabin crew members has listed things travellers should be careful of during their flight
A flight attendant has issued a warning to people who fall asleep on a plane.
While many people like to relax during their travel and take a nap throughout their flight, a flight attendant warned those sitting by the window to be careful as some parts of the plane are dirtier than others. Tommy Cimato said: "Do not fall asleep or lean your head on the window.
He warned that you never knew how many people had done the same and whether the window had been cleaned or not. He added: “You are not the only one that has done that and you don't know how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window.” - as Mirror Online reports.
Tommy also advised holidaymakers to not wear shorts on a flight. While jetsetters opt for shorts on a plane due to increased levels of comfort, the cabin crew members warned a plane can be incredibly unhygienic so its best to avoid as much direct contact as possible
He added: "Don’t or try not to wear shorts when you're on an airplane. It's the same thing as the window – you never know how clean it's going to be, so if you have pants, you're going to have less germs.”
Tommy also warned people against pressing the toilet flush button on planes. He said: "He said: “Do not ever touch the flush button with your bare hands. It's honestly just super unsanitary and pretty gross, so when you flush, use a napkin or tissue that's in the lavatory.”
Sam have you seen some of the cleaners these days.
Essentially nonexistent
“When I watch reruns of Perry Mason, I always smile when I see people getting off the bus in suits or a woman in a necklace.”
I remember an episode of “The Munsters” probably shot in the ‘50’s. There were three characters portraying criminals. They were all wearing suits and ties. I remembered seeing it when it may have been the first airing on our tiny black and white TV. The three seemed normal as in not unusual.
My dad was an electrician on big industrial jobs. He wore a long sleeve shirt and gray slacks. Often, he had to undress outside, and mom would wash his clothing in the utility room sink. The next day he’d go to work with Trouser’s pressed.
If you want a sartorial shock, take a look at photos of the workmen cleaning up after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Suits all...
That’s the one. She and her fiance both survived, although she spent 2 years in a body cast. Dude couldn’t handle her being in a cast for that long and ditched her.
Oh man
Delta hands you a Purel handi-wipe when your get on board. You do the cleaning.
Some flights I have been on did hand out moist towelettes upon entry, so you could wipe down your seat area if you want.
and then be sure to throw it on the floor somewhere so you don't contaminate your own area.
The Lockheed L-1011 was an incredible aircraft
I agree. That’s not where the danger is. It’s talking with someone for a long time without masks.
Someone I know is a sanitizer fanatic and got covid three times.
I knew someone on Flight 800. He was only in his 20s going to Paris to attend a wedding; very sad.
Tommy sounds like a homo training to be a Karen.
Dirty damn planes!
Do you think someone in the navy screwed the pooch, or someone with a shoulder fired stinger got it?
I never bought that story about some wire in the fuel tank or what ever they were selling.
Perfect. I think I’ve heard that bit before. I’ve seen a few of these aging losers purposely slam that 900 lb drink buggy into sleeping passengers knees and seen the look of rabid anger and fear as well when other passengers in the vicinity got in her face for doing that. Of course her response was threatening to snitch everyone off to the bus driver and auto pilot monitor in the barricaded flight deck. United is the worst followed by American. But again, fly an international carrier like Fiji Air Air China or Iberia Air on a long trip and it’s likely, if they like you, to get invited to the rear at 12am when they break out the mini bottles in a private party when everyone else is snoozing. Happened to me a few times :)
I can see not wearing shorts or tank tops. But has the author never heard of wipes, or of red eye flights?
It’s easy enough to clean your window, tray, and plastic armrest with a couple of wipes in little packets to carry on, rather than go without sleep.
Me neither. You know- “ Jet fuel” sounds really dangerous and scary but it’s basically kerosene and unless it’s atomized and ignited with a spark or and open flame, it’s pretty safe as a fuel compared to say Butane or something. Don’t even get me started with 9/11. . . and “jet fuel” melting iron structural beams during a relatively short exposure to the heat. Only a child would believe that - (which is why the media ran with it and didnt t question it ) they’re jornos, not mechanics or engineers
That is great advice!!!
We got a toy for our grandchild at a garage sale, and after cleaning it I put it in the Sun for that same reason. I never thought to apply that logic to shopping carts!!! Thank you!
Every service industry job in the country has staffing issues so probably not.
You’re welcome.
FWIW, I keep a pair of gardening gloves in my car and whenever I fill up, I put them on before handling the pump handle. Some touch screens don’t work so well with them on however, so sometimes I have to touch those.
God only knows who’s touched that pump handle before you and where their hands have been.
