They were following orders. Brandon wanted a high body count.
Cowardice is overcome by concern for the suffering of others, especially of children. The lack of concern for the suffering of children is far more damning than cowardice.
Wild horses couldn’t keep me from rushing that punk gun guy if my kids or anyone’s kids were in that classroom.
Every Uvalde cop who was there should kill themselves...immediately.
To Serve and Protect is now Better Them Than Me
If I worked in a Texas school, I’d carry every day. Screw the law if the Law won’t do its job.
Can you imagine being a cop with documentary evidence that fourth-graders exhibited more courage, when it mattered, than you and your fellow cops did?
They are males but Culturally they are not Men. Not even remotely. A Man does what a Man does or he is not a Man.
The proximate cause of this tragedy is a teacher leaving an outside door open.
The police response, while incompetent, is a secondary issue.
A female teacher is being protected.
She blocked the door open.
No open door, shooter can’t get into the school.
The videos clearly show the door was blocked open.
It may be that this female teacher is devastated by her actions.
She should be.
She should also be prosecuted.
I don’t really care about her tears.
Let’s use a split screen on tv.
Have her crying on one side and have the screams of terrified children on the other side.
The only way to stop this kind of stuff from happening again is to kick the asses of the people responsible.
Proximate Cause clearly points to the teacher.
I admit I am only responding to the headline; however, after Columbine 23 years ago, can any law enforcement agency claim lack of training?
“Long. Worth the time. Warning: language”
I would prefer a written version with the foul language omitted.
I believe what was missing from the police on the scene was cleverness.
Thank you for posting this. The operator who went through the timeline did a great job and did not hold back when evaluating obviously substandard, apparently cowardly performance by officers and lack of a masculine approach and timely, violent action to neutralize the attacker and protect and save innocent lives of children and others in mortal peril.
An officer had the scope of his carbine rifle on the attacker as the attacker was slowly walking with his rifle toward the west hallway entrance to the school. The operator in the video says that the 143 yard distance, combined with the power if the officer’s carbine rifle, made this a point of scope=point of “entry” situation. The attacker was dead to rights, and what did the officer do? He “blinked”. He called his supervisor for permission to take the guy out. Then he asked again for permission. The opportunity then disappeared as the attacker waltzed through an unlocked doorway and into the school.
O'Donnell then claims that without an AR15 the shooter would not have been able to do so much damage. That is an outright lie.
The Virginia Tech shooter was similarly on a shooting spree that lasted hours. He was armed with two handguns and a bag of loaded magazines. The media just can't help themselves. They must lie to accomplish their disarmament goals.
I heard today that the AP is changing their style manual to recommend against use of the terms "assault rifle" or "assault weapon". Their preferred term is "semi-automatic rifle".
At first I thought this was a good thing and represented a shift toward more responsible reporting. After some more thought I came up with an alternative explanation.
Initially I thought the result of the AP change might be that we would eliminate the terms suggesting that "assault weapons" were weapons of war that do not belong in our communities. Gun owners might benefit from recognition that so-called "assault weapons" are just modern rifles and should not be banned.
Now I recognize the possibility that the intention of the AP is just the opposite. Having conditioned our communities to view "assault weapons" as a problem to be solved, the anti-gunners will now shift full time to outlawing ALL semi-automatic rifles ( and soon thereafter semi-automatic handguns).
