It’s not a question of whether he was right or wrong to have done so; it’s that the Pentagon always sat silently as retired senior officers abused President Trump.
The headline at the New York Post told the story: “Retired three-star general Gary Volesky suspended after tweet at Jill Biden.” Unlike Hunter, Jill’s stepson, General Volesky did not call Jill a “vindictive moron” and an “entitled c**t,” with the latter being one of the most obscene, vicious insults that can be directed at a woman. Volesky’s gentle gibe, though, was enough to get him suspended from his civilian contract job with the military and placed under investigation.
The story’s not complicated. From the Post:
Retired lieutenant general Gary Volesky, a former spokesman for the Army, responded to a tweet from Biden about the Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade, in which the First Lady remarked that women’s rights had been “stolen.”
Biden tweeted that “for nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us.”
Volesky responded, “Glad to see you finally know what a woman is.”

The problem is that they are investigating him only because he made a joke about a powerful person in politics.
Even after making it very plain for the past six years or so that President Trump was fair game.
In your face admission that the military will not take a neutral position nor a position protecting the constitutional rights of the US citizens.

Woke or not woke I’ve been cautioning people for years that both law enforcement and the military will turn on their own countrymen in a heartbeat if they are ordered to do so. “Just following orders” I think was the defense of Nazis on trial at Nuremberg.

Jill does not have a Ph.D. - a Doctor of Philosophy degree. That requires languages and a dissertation and a few other things. Jill has an Ed.D. which is a degree given by an education school. Very different.
During most of 2020, far left-wing democrats rioted, looted and burned their way through cities throughout America, with the support and open encouragement of the lamestream media and elected democrat politicians.
So it is not surprising that some Conservative tourists thought that the rules had changed and that they could peacefully protest the stolen election by strolling through the Capitol, after the gates were opened and they were invited and even encouraged to come inside.
They were wrong. The rules have not changed. There are still two sets of rules, one set of rules for the far left and another set of rules for the rest of us.
An insult draws an investigation? Pathetic.

Well, okay. Maybe I’m wrong. It happens. And it’s happening more as I get older! But personal insults never help. I’d much prefer if you’d explain where I’m wrong. Then maybe I’d learn something.
As an aside, that’s one of the nice things about Free Republic. Not only do you get the latest news from a conservative viewpoint, you often learn something new. As an example of that, earlier today I referred to Andrew Johnson as if he were a Republican. Another Freeper corrected me on that. He did it without any personal insults, and I learned something new.
