Had a long day today and am exhausted and relaxing with a nice cold beer(s) watching some Rifleman espisodes. Man, this was the good ole days when TV was good. Now, it's garbage on TV.
What are your favorite old time TV shows?
With so many streaming sources, I am watching series in my retirement that I missed during their original runs.
Finished Hill Street Blues, Picket Fences, and The X-Files.
Currently NYPD Blue and Alias.
Aussie TV: City Homicide, Blue Heelers, and All Saints.
I watch more streaming than network broadcasts and more older than newer series.
Gunsmoke is my favorite followed by Wagon Train. I watch one or the other and sometimes both almost every day.
You are right. Most TV today is crap.
Yes Directors cut and
Bladerrunner 2049 has captured me as well not just
Anna De Arma !
Yeah, seriously.
I’ll take Lucas McCain....you stick with John McCain.
Was that the guy from Fernwood Tonight, a spin-off from Mary Hartman?
I never laughed so hard in my entire life before that guy went across my spectral range.
Then I got sent to Europe for years and never saw him again.
BTW, our children will never understand terms like “Vertical Hold”, “Horizontal Hold”, the UHF knob, or even “Color” and “Tint”.
“Do you know why television is referred to as a medium? It’s because it is neither rare, or well done”
-Ernie Kovacs.
I love Gunsmoke, too. Trying not to get addicted to Wagon Train, but they have some good stories.
Oh, that was Martin Mull. Never mind.
Yes, 🥰👍
I got a great treat this evening ❣
If you’re up on the pop culture and political history Laugh-In can be amusing. Otherwise it’s kinda incomprehensible.

Yes, they have good stories and a very good cast and great guest characters.

I was up enough, but then again we didn’t even like it the first time around, though my sister had a “Laugh-In” lunch box.
Bewitched and Get Smart started to run out gas by the end.
Bewitched had a bad habit of rerunning plots with the second Darrin.
Mark Steyn joked that it was a little known fact that Mike Pence was the third Darrin.
Been watching Gunsmoke lately. Did you know it spanned four decades?
He turned up on “ Roseanne” as her gay boss, and was in Dads,” which was pretty funny.
complete dvd sets of Highway Patrol, Mike Hammer (Darren McGavin & Stacy Keach ones), Naked City, Racket Squad, Dragnet (B&W and later color),FBI (Efrem zimbalist),Untouchables, M Squad (Lee Marvin play Frank Ballanger—my screen name origin with one letter different),Adam 12,Burke’s Law,Peter Gunn, Mr.Lucky, Matlock, Miami Vice, Nash Bridges, Andy Griffith, Get Smart, Green Acres, Ancient Aliens.
Never watched real network TV about 1988-2022 until my dear wife died Feb.26 this year and I am now binge watching NCIS, 2-3 spinoffs, Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, Law & Order & its SVU.
Do NOT like seeing Michelle Obama cameo on NCIS or the anti-gun and anti-talk radio crapola on others. Love the brutal beatings dished out by Voight on Chicago PD (almost as good as the Darren McGain ones on shows of oldest Mike Hammer. Hammer once dropped a perp off a tall staircase because he had done that to an old lady earlier. Love those happy endings.
Still getting much much too angry over the super villains and their smirking, grinning evil on these shows. And the defense attorneys. Have to calm down.
